Minority Privilege and the Covington Smear

In the rush to condemn a group of Catholic high school boys, the Left became even more unhinged from reality than usual. The viral video that started the wolf attack showed the MAGA-hat wearing kids MAKING FACES at an Indian activist named with the culturally appropriated Caucasian Nathan Phillips.
James Fallows from the Atlantic wrote the following AFTER the video surfaced showing the Covington boys were not the aggressors in the recent viral hatefest:
He was mocking them. If they responded in kind (and it's pretty clear from the video they did not) is it any surprise? But white males have no right to defend themselves, either physically or verbally. White males are supposed to hang their heads in shame at their "white privilege", a privilege that seems to largly consist of taking a huge amount of abuse and admitting they suck.
One of the tactics of "older, smaller, weaker people" these days (as in school days as well), or I should say one of the tactics of liberals (who in fact have more power via their control of the media and the money of billionaire donors who fund organized hatefests) is to pretend to be "older, smaller, weaker people" and attack in some form, then cry foul when their victims defend themselves. It's an old trick, really. Kids learn it at an early age, mess with another child then blame him or her to the teacher or parent. This goes to show that liberals really never did grow up.
But they are better at it than kids, and with the media they can promote themselves at the expense of innocent people. I have no doubt that many of the "outraged" liberals who have verbally assaulted these fine young men know exactly what transpired here but don't care, because this advances a narrative that they are selling to those who aren't paying attention. Everything with these people is theater.
They would have you believe an old man was sitting there drumming to himself when these vicious white thugs started doing tomahawk chops and demanding he return to the reservation. Does that make any sense? If they were the instigators wouldn't they have been a little more, uh, aggressive? Taken his drum and broken it, maybe? Called him something more vile? Mocked him by dancing around making war whoops? They didn't do enough to suggest they were the aggressors.
I would like to point out that Nathan Phillips is a professional protester who claimed back in 2015 to have been similarly harassed by college students. According to the left wing website Heavy"
As was reported by Detroit media, in 2015, Phillips was walking by a group of Eastern Michigan University students who were in costume as Native Americans. They called to him and he walked over and when they said they were honoring him, he said they were not. It was reported the students began "whooping and hollering.†And he challenged them saying that their actions were racist and that’s when he claimed the racist attacks began. Soon, a beer can was thrown at him, he said.

So, this activist has made this claim before. And college kids, at that; universities are hotbeds of political correctness and liberalism, and what are the odds? Perhaps it is Mr. Phillips himself who is the problem?
Phillips claims he "cried" later because the high school students were chanting "build the wall". Why? He's from Michigan, his tribe is the Omaha; he has little to do with the border, and nothing to do with illegal aliens. His beef with a border wall appears to be purely political.
Phillips was one of the leaders of the Standing Rock protests against the Dakota Access Pipeline. That protest was an attempt to stop an oil pipeline from being built from the Bakken oil fields in North Dakota. Activists chained themselves to heavy machinery and whatnot and had to be forcibly evicted. The protests were ostensibly to protect water but in reality they supported Barack Obama's attempt to kill the fledgling American oil industry and Fraking.
Phillips said on Twitter:
"While I was there singing, I heard them saying ‘Build that wall! Build that wall!’, you know… this is indigenous land! …We’re not supposed to have walls here, we never did—for millennium. Before anybody else came here we never had walls. We never had a prison. We always took care of our elders, we took care of our children. We always provided for them, you know. We taught them right from wrong. I wish I could see that energy of the young mass, the young men, put their energy into making this into a really great country.â€

No, Native Americans did indeed have walls. The eastern woodland Indians used to build defensive palisades around their villages all the time. And does Phillips not know that, without prisons, his people had to either kill someone who was anti-social or exile them to the wilderness? He also forgets the other fun aspects of traditional life, such as famine, plague, cold in winter, hot in summer, etc. It is wonderfully romantic to remember the traditional life fondly, but it was not all roses. And even if it was, times have changed and we cannot live that way any longer. The anti-civilizational attitude of Phillips is wishful thinking; we have too many people. The wall is intended to slow that down. If he has his way we will have more people and the possibility of his tribe being able to maintain any of their culture will be seriously diminished. High population density means people have to obey - just look at China.
Oh, by the way, Phillips is supposedly age 64 which means he was born in 1954. The Paris Peace Accord was signed on January 27, 1973, making Phillips just 19 at the end of the war - which puts his supposed veteran status in doubt. It is possible, but unlikely, that Phillips actually fought in the war. He may have been drafted (or enlisted) before the end of the war, but it is doubtful he actually fought.
This guy also acted in a music video. He's a poseur, plain and simple.
This whole thing is a vicious farce.

Whatever happened just before or after the three or four minutes most widely circulated on yesterday’s videos, those three or four minutes convey a reality that seems impossible to deny. For a sustained period, a large group of young men, who had chosen by their apparel to identify themselves with a political movement (and a movement whose leader uses ‘Pocahontas’ as an epithet and recently made a ‘joking’ reference to the massacre at Wounded Knee), act mockingly to a man their grandfathers’ age, who by his apparel and activities represents a racial-minority, indigenous-American group.

Well, first off, these kids had been taking a bunch of racial abuse from a radical black group called Black Hebrew Israelites - yet another cultural appropriation by those who brood about whites doing or wearing "black" things. Manners aside (and you don't get in people's faces and make a lot of noise be it with a drum, your voice, or a trombone) what is Phillips doing?
