Minneapolis Rejects Junior Mamdani

One of the Twin Cities has rejected the Mondani of Minneapolis in one of the rare bright spots in an otherwise disappointing off-year election.
Mayor Jacob Frey was elected to a third term as the boss hog of the city, soundly beating Omar Fateh (who is no doubt a Somali Muslim), a man who wanted a city income tax, rent control, and to defund the police. Comparisons between Fateh and Momdani are apt.
A coaliton of communists/radicals seized control of the city council and Frey has been at odds with them since, vetoing multiple crazy proposals from them, such as a carbon emissions fee, and a high minimum waqe for Uber and Lyft drivers.
They all backed Fateh but failed to oust the more sensible mayor.
DeWayne Davis and azz Hampton also ran in the race, but they formed an entente' with Fateh to push him over the finish line in the ranked choice election.

I sure do! Jacob Frey has long been styled Minneapolis' "boy mayor" and has been pretty much a disaster when viewed through a clear lens. For him to win over Fateh is pretty much like if New York City were to have voted for Cuomo over Mamdani -- slow death over fast.
Any way you want to put it, Democrat mayors do a lousy job these days.

Indeed they do Dana - all over. But some are worse than others as you point out.
Hee in St. Louis we elected Kara Spencer over Letitia Jones in the last election. Spencer isn't any good but she's head and shoulders over Jones, who pretty much ran this city into the ground (as I knew she would; her father was a local pol who went to prison for corruption.) Dems just make terrible leaders because they have terrible policies. One with bad style makes a worse leader still.

To amplify on Frey a bit: he was the dude who let Minneapolis burn (with our Guv's help, or perhaps I should say, without our Guv's interference) after George Floyd managed to commit suicide with the help of the Minneapolis Police.

I caught that about Minneapolis' twin, Dana. I guess the Mafia isn't involved so heavily there anymore.
If she is an illegal alien ICE should arrest her and she should be deported.

And at his latest swearing-in party, Frey spoke mostly in Somali and said "We belong to Somalia" ( or words to that effect) -- it's all on Fox News.
