One of the first actions of the Russian peacekeeping forces sent in to Ukraine to de-Nazify it, was to blow up the dam in the North Crimean Canal (see red line), which Ukraine built after Russia invaded and annexed Crimea.
It's funny that Russia had previously claimed that blocking the canal had no impact on Crimean agricultural outputs.
'According to official Russian statistics, the Crimean agricultural industry fully overcame the consequences of blocking the North Crimean Canal and crop yields grew by a factor of 1.5 from 2013 by 2016.'
These official statistics contrast with reports of a massive shrinkage in the area under cultivation in Crimea, from 130,000 hectares in 2013 to just 14,000 in 2017.
But hey, Russia never tells lies.

Speaking of Brezhnev, Dana, when I graduated from college in '87 George H. W. Bush spoke at my graduation. He told a story about Brezhnev's funeral; his widow went to his casket and furtively made the sign of the cross over his cold, decrepit body. SHE knew where he was probably going!
