In yet another science fraud, researchers have faked data to claim sea levels are rising dramatically in the Indian Ocean.
From No Tricks Zone:
"In a new paper published in Earth Systems and Environment this month, Australian scientists Dr. Albert Parker and Dr. Clifford Ollier uncover evidence that Permanent Service for Mean Sea Level (PSMSL) overseers appear to have been engaging in the "highly questionable†and "suspicious†practice of adjusting historical tide gauge data to show recent accelerated sea level rise where no such acceleration (or rise) exists.
Extensive evidence from "tide gauges, coastal morphology, stratigraphy, radiocarbon dating, archaeological remains, and historical documentation†all suggest that sea levels in the Indian Ocean have effectively been stable in recent decades.
The authors expose how PSMSL data-adjusters make it appear that stable sea levels can be rendered to look like they are nonetheless rising at an accelerated pace."
End excerpt.
This is a monotonously repeated trick of the Gang Green, who are determined to continue to provide cover to the lie of Global Warming by creating false data sets to claim thermogeddon is nigh. We've had Michael Mann and his fake hockey stick graph. We've had false claims of declining ice in Antarctica. We've had lies anout sea level rise. We've had lies about increasing tropical storms. The list is so extensive it would take up a couple of pages here to chronicle.
If science really is on their side, why do Alarmists have to fake data?
The article continues:
"Extensive evidence from "tide gauges, coastal morphology, stratigraphy, radiocarbon dating, archaeological remains, and historical documentation†all suggest that sea levels in the Indian Ocean have effectively been stable in recent decades.
The authors expose how PSMSL data-adjusters make it appear that stable sea levels can be rendered to look like they are nonetheless rising at an accelerated pace.
The data-adjusters take misaligned and incomplete sea level data from tide gauges that show no sea level rise (or even a falling trend). Then, they subjectively and arbitrarily cobble them together, or realign them. In each case assessed, PSMSL data-adjusters lower the earlier misaligned rates and raise the more recent measurements. By doing so, they concoct a new linearly-rising trend"
End excerpt.
Sea level has been rising - and the ice caps shrinking - for ten thousand years, since the end of the last ice age. This has accelerated since the nineteenth century and the end of the Little Ice Age. There is nothing unusual about the era we live in except that technology has given us a more complete view of planetary temperatures, sea level, and ice extent. In bygone eras we didn't have data as good. Only now, the data is being purposely manipulated to mislead the public and lawmakers to promote the establishment of a worldwide regime that is ultimately aimed at world government.
It is, frankly, getting dull. I wish these people would at least come up with some new tricks.
