Liberal Lost Marbles

Sickness to Socialism; Leftists are More Likely to Have Mental Problems, Survey Shows

A word from Timothy B.:

Nietzche went mad before he died for the same reason; he looked into the abyss and his mind was recoiled in horror. That's what so many in our modern era are doing; looking into an abyss where neither Nature nor God have any place. It's a terrible thing to stare at.

1 Well I think there's a cart and horse, or chicken and egg problem here. Sort of like, "Do only assholes become lawyers, or does being a lawyer turn you into an asshole?" I think we need to ask do only people with mental problems become liberals, or does being a liberal cause one to have mental problems? I believe the answer to that is far from clear.

2 Actually the immutable question applies to cardiologists as well but became muddied a bit when, after 15 years and 8 or 9 cardiologists, I finally am being treated by a cardiologist whom I kind of like.

3 Lawyers and cardiologists are indeed often assholes, and one wonders which came first Bill!  I understand lawyers; you are usually a scumbag to begin with when you go into the legal profession. But cardiologists?  I still can't figure that one out.

4 Many of the Psalms reiterate that God is always with you, holding your right hand, and that means that He is with you even if you are staring into the abyss. So if you must stare, He will keep you from falling in, as long as you don't let go of His hand.

5 Aye, there's the rub, Dana. The Left has not just let go of God's hand but have tried to bite it off. When one is unmoored from the source of everything madness is always close at hand.

6 So true, Tim. Those of us who have any influence, socially or politically, must use it to try to keep our people realizing that God is still with us.

7 There's a joke I really enjoyed but can't really remember. It involved a golf course. I just remember the punch line as one guy asks another, "Who does he think he is, God?" The other guy replies, "No, he thinks he's a cardiologist."

8 Hehehe...good one, Bill!

I had a knock-down drag out with a cadriologist at the hospital when my father was in for his heart. What a jerk! My brother Brian came in and we got so angry I feared they would call security on us, but eventually this jerk just left in a huff. So your point is very well take!

(He basically was saying dad had a good life but that's all over now and they weren't going to waste resources on him. We took him elsewhere and they operated on him and he's had no heart trouble since.)

9 Yeah, Dana; we have to remember that.
