I thought liberalism was all about compassion.

See, they don't like it that a private organization is doing it and not the government.

The pastor was shut down for being in violation of minor local codes (like hogging up sidewalk space with people waiting for food).

The Left hates private initiative and they hate Christian initiative. If there is no political benefit to them they will let folks go hungry.
