Judge Dismisses Suit to Make Pennsylvania Verify Overseas Ballots

Timothy Birdnow

A federal judge dismissed a Republican lawsuit to force Pennsylvania to verify overseas ballots.

Judge Christopher Conner of the Middle District of Pennsylvania argued it was too close to the election to keep the state honest, despite the fact that this is exactly what you would do if you were going to cheat - the lawsuit against you would come late because you would keep your plot under wraps until the Republicans couldn't file suit to keep the election honest.

The judge said:

"An injunction at this late hour would upend the Commonwealth’s carefully laid election administration procedures to the detriment of untold thousands of voters, to say nothing of the state and county administrators who would be expected to implement these new procedures on top of their current duties,”

Strange; these judges are always happy to allow last second ballot dumps and do not care about who is discommoded by them. But a demand that overseas ballots be verified is somehow too onerous? I mean, they have a whole week to deal with this.

I would add judges are supposed to follow the Law, not worry about the convenience of government workers.

And what grounds did this guy (a W. Bush appointee) give for his denial? STANDING! The plaintiffs were state congressional delegates. Oh, and he said it came too late. So as long as the Democrats pull the wool over the Republicans eyes long enough to miss a deadline then they are free to cheat as they please?

How can members of the state legislature not have standing where elections are concerned?

FTA:

"The initial complaint, filed on Sept. 30, alleged that Pennsylvania officials had violated federal law by exempting voters from verification requirements. Among other things, it sought an order directing county officials to segregate ballots from individuals who voted under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA), which allows special voting privileges for military and other U.S. citizens abroad.

Both court documents pointed out that more than 25,000 UOCAVA ballots had already been delivered by Pennsylvania authorities by the time the plaintiffs filed their amended complaint on Oct. 7."

End

In other words the Democrats were disregarding state law and the Republicans just wanted to sequester improper ballots pending verfication. That is the job of the Secretary of State and of local election officials and it should have been done.

The courts are a get-out-of-jail-free card for Democrats and have allowed them to steal multiple elections. And the GOP is terrified of challenging them. They go to liberal courts and are then rebuffed by them.

I would say judge Conner heads the middle finger district of Pennsylvania, if you ask me.
