Why isn't Maui Joe Biden's Katrina?
Now George Bush flew over New Orleans two days after Hurricane Katrina to survey the damage. He was Hillaried, er, pilloried over his "mismanagement" of the disaster, even though the state's Democratic Governor and the city's Democratic Mayor are the ones who actually mismanaged things. (For instance, Mayor Ray Naggin, now in prison for stealing recovery funds, left buses sit until they sunk in the mud while people were desperately in need of evacuation. Also, the Governor of Louisiana, Kathleen Blanco, took no steps to help evacuate the city.)
Due to the extreme difficulties - half the city was underwater and transportation was nigh unto impossible - Bush stayed clear and let the first responders do their jobs. Had he showed up it would have been a security and logistical nightmare for everyone and he understood that.
Yet it was Katrina that pretty much sank him politically, as any number of left-wing media outlets will tell you. See here and here.
The media sunk in their teeth and wouldn't let go.
Contrast that with the non-response of usurper Joe Biden, the Captain Peachfuzz of American politics. Biden could easily go to Hawaii at any time as long as he stayed out of the direct area. Fires burn and then are out, unlike flood waters which take time to recede. Biden could have at least gone to a safe area and surveyed the devastation by helicopter, but he chose not to do so. In fact, he gave a "no comment" when asked about the Hawaiian fires.
This is reminiscent of Marie Antoinette "let them eat cake" when told the peasants were starving.
Biden clearly isn't concerned. Granted, he may not have understood what they were talking about. "Hawaiian fires? Is that some new steak house?" but then too Biden can't talk about anything at all unless he's coached in advance. Or he's just a cold-hearted man.
Be that as it may he's being treated far more kindly by the media than President Bush ever was, and that because he's their boy.
And while Mr. Biden himself may not have blamed the fires on "climate change" certainly other Democrats have - including his adviser John Podesta.
It's not that the Democrat-controlled Hawaii has been systematically eliminating their agricultural industry, with pineapple and sugar plantations left fallow and being overgrown with non-native grasses, no! It's a one degree warming of the whole Earth overall in a hundred years that is the culprit!
At any rate, what would the media say if Bush had blamed Katrina on global warming and simply shrugged his shoulders with an "oh, well"?
Here is a story in Western Journalism explaining the cause of the Maui fires.
Apparently it's cheaper to grow pineapples and sugar cane in the Caribbean or elsewhere than in the Democrat hellhole of Hawaii and their endless regulations and taxes. The enviro-nazis want Hawaii returned to it's primeval state (as they do everywhere we've seen massive fires in recent years, places like California) and when you don't manage the land and let fuel pile up you have fires.
So why isn't this Joe Biden's Katrina?
