So what explains the other multiple cases where Joe was incoherent and had to be led from the stage?
And why would they need to do it in the first place? If Joe was so sharp he wouldn't have needed convincing, now would he.

Considering the mental condition Sleepy Joe was in during that period of his life, I would hope he was on drugs of some sort. And I'll leave it up to our readers to decide which drugs they should be -- and please, be kind and don't suggest they should be from Hunter's collection.
