I've Always Thought So

Timothy Birdnow

Well, I've always suspected as much...

New Report Confirms: Recycling is B.S.

Logic has always told me that was the case; trash companies don't separate the trash at the fill site. If there was any benefit to recycling to them they would have a guy pick through the arrivals. That they don't said it was not profitable.

Why not incinerate? We could burn plastic to run generators and kill two birds with one stone.

1 Interesting article, but when push comes to shove, it doesn't help guys like you and me as it comes to dealing with things like our yogurt tubs, wine bottles, used Kleenex and other inorganic material (well, the used Kleenex may have some organics on it, but I don't think that counts). I still put those in the recycling bin, where it's picked up by a truck that looks identical to the one that picks up my garbage, which contains "organic material" in plastic bags.

I put my used Keurig K-cups in the garbage. If I wanted more activity to fill up my time I could wait till they cool, cut off the paper top, flush out the coffee grounds into the sink, then toss the plastic cup and cardboard top into the recycling. I probably should. But if it's all B.S. anyhow. . .
