Hostin Lied

Dana Mathewson

Oops! The Sunny Hostin story was, er, backward. She lied (I know.... hard to believe!)

Dana lifted this from Wikipedia: "In September 2026, Hostin claimed that she was the holdout juror in the 1991 trial of Daniel Rakowitz, known as the "Butcher of Tompkins Square Park." Hostin stated that she successfully persuaded the jury to acquit Rakowitz by reason of insanity, a decision that prevented a guilty verdict and kept him out of prison.[32] Additionally, Hostin was quoted in The New York Times in February 1991: "We don't think [Rakowitz] intended to kill [Beerle]. But once he did, he dismembered her body in an effort to commit the perfect crime.[33]"

A Win for Voter Integrity

This from John F. DiLeo

Good news from the supreme court; bad news from the press.
Today, in a 6-3 ruling (you know who), SCOTUS supported the right of the federal government to require citizenship verification of mail-in ballots. And of course the press is misreporting it, with as much spin as a basketball on the forefinger of a Harlem Globetrotter.
In a nutshell: There are countless thousands of varieties of ballots in any national election, because every household, every precinct, belongs in different jurisdictions. You have to not only prove that you're a citizen, but also that you're over 18, and in some states a non-felon, and that you live in the right neighborhood not just for any ballot, but for this particular one.
The Democrats' goal - especially since stealing Georgia in 2020 by getting thousands of people all over the country to "register" from friends' houses, businesses, PO boxes, and dorms in Georgia - is to use the mail to avoid the key step that takes place in in-person voting: the personal verification that you're in the right place for THIS ballot.
It's not just about you having the right to vote, it's about you having the right to vote for THIS state rep race and THIS congressional race and THIS county board race.
Dems are notorious for moving people around from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, to get enough people over to where they can swing an election. It's how they won Barack Obama's first primary in Iowa, for example, with busloads of Wisconsin and Illinois students.
By switching people to the US Mail, they want to stop ANY form of verification. No human sees that ballot.
The Trump administration is trying to do whatever they legally can do, to reduce the fraud by this method.
And SCOTUS has confirmed that yes, if someone wants to use the US mail to bypass the pollworkers at his local polling place, it makes sense for the federal government to do what it can to make sure that some verification occurs.
This is NOT in contradiction to the US Constitution. On the contrary, it's in full support of the Constitution.
Our nation is built on elections.
For the intent of our Framers to be met, these elections should be as tightly engineered as possible, to ensure that only legal voters vote, and that they only vote in the correct jurisdictions for their residence.
This move by the Post Office will not prevent all fraud. But it will prevent some fraud. And yes, this process is absolutely legal.

Soros Packing Lower Courts

Timothy Birdnow

Here is how George Soros is packing lower courts with leftists who will move up the ladder and eventually take top judicial positions over time.

This is Soros' latest plot to screw America and turn her into a socialist state.

Soros famously ran his Prosecuting Attorney's Project to infiltrate prosecutor's offices. That project came to fruition with Letitia James and whatsherface down in Georgia, both of whom went after Donald Trump.

He's now going after lower courts.

When are we going to deport this ex Nazi?

Judge Restores Fake News Media

Timothy Birdnow

Whoda seen it coming?

The White House should never, ever call on any of their reporters and if they try to shout down another reporter they should be removed from the proceedings.

Trump knew this would happen. I am puzzled by his endgame here.

Yes, it is probably a red herring designed to manipulate the news media, to get them all a-lather about his "tyrannical" administrative approach. Trump is a master of that, manipulating the media with some tempest in a teapot. But why is he doing it, and why now?

He's definitely trying to distract them. From what I am unclear.

Misplaced Confidence

Timothy Birdnow

I wish this were true but I fear this is wishful thinking.

The upshot here is that while the courts have stopped things like barcoding ballots and keeping a database of eligible voters is gone this cycle (paused but not yet fully adjudicated) the DoJ has promised to prosecute those who willfully violate election law to the fullest extent of the law and that will make many, if not most, of them afraid to do it.

Poppycock! They know if the Democrats win power in November none of that will matter as the new Congress will go after the DOJ, after their prosecutors, and after Trump. And even if they do get nailed and go to prison the Democratic Party will take care of them. How much time will they get if they are sentenced under a Democrat-appointed judge? Six months maybe knocked down to maybe six weeks for "good behavior" after which they will have a nice new job waiting for them.

Stopping the ballot stuffers is important but it is perhaps more important stopping the illegal ballots, and that is what the courts have made impossible.

I fear SCOTUS may have cost us America. I think this is that important.

I hope and pray I am wrong and this political theater we see where they tell us the Democrats are ahead, this pro-wrestling style political show, is just that and in the end America outvotes the Demo-left, but it is not at all sure. We outvoted them in 2020 and it didn't matter. And the special elections have almost all gone to the Democrats, who are better at getting out the vote and even better at making up the vote. They are going to pull out all the stops soon.

Confidence is fine but I fear misplaced in this instance. The Democrats are professional cheaters and know how to do it. We are amateur detectives, a gaggle of Maxwell Smarts, only not as lucky. Pros always beat amateurs except when it's women playing boys teams.

Why is Indonesia’s government trying to censor my 'great replacement' speech?

Selwyn Duke

Here’s a point to ponder: Why would the Indonesian government want to censor speech about the Great Replacement of Western peoples via suicidal (im)migration policies?

Because it apparently does, and I should know — the Jakarta regime just targeted my content.

I log on to my computer Monday morning and, as usual, check my email.

Lo and behold, there’s a message from X’s legal department (twitter-legal@x.com). They’re notifying me that they’d received a complaint that some of my content violated "the law(s) of Indonesia.” They state that the complaint was filed by Kementerian Komunikasi dan Digital RI.

So I look that up and learn it’s Indonesia’s national Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs — "RI” means Republik Indonesia.

I then think, "O.K., what did I post about Indonesia or its officials?” Some countries do, after all, have laws against criticizing their leaders.

I couldn’t think of anything and, in fact, it turns out that my "transgression” was something completely different.

X provided a link to the targeted content (below).

Now, why would Indonesia’s communications ministry care about that?

The post I was responding to (below) concerned campaign-finance allegations against British politician Nigel Farage, head of nationalist political party Reform UK. Reform is strongly interested in curtailing third world immigration; hence my comment above.

BREAKING: Nigel Farage & Reform exposed

We went undercover for a year to investigate illicit foreign donations. To watch the full 35-minute investigation follow link in bio.

So I’m still not seeing the Indonesian angle.

Someone close to me theorized that perhaps Britain has a large Indonesian population.

But, no; I researched it and learned that the nationality’s U.K. numbers are negligible.

Well, then, what gives? Is Indonesia planning on sending hordes Britain’s way? Is there a Muslim connection? After all, great controversy surrounds Islamic influence in the U.K., and Indonesia has the world’s largest Muslim population (ahead of Pakistan and India).

Are many third world countries simply bent on perpetuating the Great Replacement?

Does Indonesia just consider my statement a hateful sentiment? (In reality, my comment is relatively anodyne insofar as such subject matter goes.)

Or is it merely that someone at the communications ministry stumbled upon my post and was having a bad hair day?

Regardless, this illustrates how globalist, immigrationist forces — which would slap an iron muzzle on anyone daring to speak truth — are on the march worldwide. Note that virtually the entire planet has "hate speech” laws or some restrictions on substantive expression. These United States, with their First Amendment protections, are quite unique — and perhaps endangered.

Anyway, I guess I won’t be taking any Indonesian vacations anytime soon. I might learn upon disembarking from the plane that the government had some free accommodations planned for me that I didn’t bank on.

But tell me: Do you have any theories regarding why Indonesia would want to suppress voices opposing the Great Replacement? It’s most curious, indeed.

WWIII Coming: Time to Exit NATO

Timothy Birdnow

Here is a disturbing analysis of the Russo-Ukrainian war and how there is ample evidence this thing is about to turn global.

The author argues that Zelensky, using the spiffy new drones he has been able to acquire thanks to all the Western aid, has upset the war of attrition plan of Putin and has started going after oil refineries. Particularly the diesel situation is critical; Russia is the second largest exporter of diesel behind the United States and now the Russians are keeping it all for home use. If the U.S. follows suit the European will be desperate.

He then chronicles all the war preparations that have been ongoing in European countries. This despite the fact Putin has said he isn't going to attack any European country and, more importantly, he CAN'T unless he unleashes his nuclear arsenal. So why the buildup now?

Here is the author's theory - makes sense to meL!

Europe has been the primary target of a decade long cultural replacement operation. Mass immigration has been utilized to undermine the stability of economic and social structures. For years I have been warning that these third world migrants are being imported as a mercenary army to control the locals and prevent rebellion against future leftist agendas.

We are already seeing confirmation of this in the UK, where migrants are being integrated into police forces to subdue conservative protesters.

The thing is, this invasion plan has sparked an enormous counter-movement of European patriots in countries like Britain and Germany. Anti-immigration and conservative parties like Restore in the UK and the AFD in Germany are seeing wild success in membership and elections. Meaning, time for leftists/globalists is running out and they need to do something quick before they lose direct governmental power.

A world war sure would come in handy, right? All kinds of restrictions on the populace can be put in place, along with a perfect excuse to delay or eliminate normal elections. Would the progressives actually go that far just to prevent conservatives from taking government? We all know that they would.

So, we have two running clocks that did not exist at the beginning of the Ukraine war: We have a diesel shortage clock, specifically for the Europeans. And, we have an avalanche of conservative movements with major elections happening from 2026 through 2029.

My concern is that the leftists are about to go for broke in an effort to keep power. I don’t think they’re crazy enough to want a nuclear war, and perhaps the Russians want to avoid this as well. If that’s the case, then the result would be a large multi-region conflict that MIGHT turn nuclear if either side feels like they are losing. The main goal of the EU elites at that stage would be to lure the US into the fray.

That is entirely in the character of the elites. Look at Covid and how they weaponized that - up to and including killing millions of people. Most of the Covid protocols was to entrench their power.

Any way you look at this it's bad. Putin will never give in and Putin cannot afford to lose. There is the irresistible force meeting the immovable object. The Europeans rely on Russian oil and gas and diesel and they can't do without it. It's not just don't want to do without, they can't; they became dependent on it when they went into the green energy thing. And they have been using Ukraine as a weapon to drive Russia into the Western orbit, into joining the New World Order, their banking system and trade and "rules based order" system of things. Russia has sought to lead her own system for some time.

In point of fact the rise of Putin is directly related to this desire to stay out of the New World Order. George Soros, that creepy Jewish Nazi collaborator, came into Russia during the waning days of Boris Yeltsin and crashed the Russian economy, shorting their central bank and causing a collapse. The public was mad an American-based foreigner could come in and wreck their economy, draining all of their pensions and whatnot. Putin came in on a Russia First promise, and he has tried to keep that. (Yes, he is evil, a murderer and thug, but he is an HONEST murderer and thug.)

Well, the people with the gigantic brains (the World Elites) were not going to have that! So they got the U.S. to move Nato right up to Russia's border in violation of a verbal agreement and they overthrew the pro-Russian president of Ukraine to snatch what had traditionally been more of a province of Russia than an independent country away from the Russians. Didn't help that the U.S. built a bunch of biological weapons labs there. Then basically we helped Zelensky come to power and he's de-Russified the country, kicking the Orthodox Church out, banning the use of Russian in governments in the Russian-speaking east, cancelling elections, controlling news media and arresting any media that gave him bad press, etc.

At any rate the Ukrainian government is no better than Putin's (and no worse) but the Europeans climbed in bed with it. So did many Americans, notably the Clintons, who had a cozy relationship. So did Biden and his kin. So did many other Democrats. Ukraine was a GREAT place to launder money. It's been one of the cornerstones of the Democratic political machine; taking illegal campaign money by laundering it through the Ukraine.

Now the European elites want open war with the nation with the largest and most modern nuclear arsenal in the world. And, with the iron-clad NATO alliance, they will force the United States into this war along-side them.

I think now might be a good time to exit NATO. Oh, and kick the U.N. out of the United States as well.

The Snows of Maxwell Montes

Timothy Birdnow

Like I've BEEN saying! The unique character of the Venusian atmosphere explains why it is so hot, not the carbon dioxide levels. Mars, which also has a carbon-dioxide atmosphere, is bitterly cold, colder than it should be.

Newly published research identifies convective heat transfer and the consequent lapse rate, and not radiation, CO2 concentration, or the so-called greenhouse effect, as the predominant mechanisms warming Earth from its effective radiating temperature, ~255 K, to ~288 K.

Proponents of the anthropogenic global warming (AGW) narrative necessarily believe (1) CO2 is the Earth’s temperature "control knob,” (2) longwave (LW) radiation from greenhouse gases like CO2 and water vapor is what keeps the Earth’s surface ~33 K warmer than it would otherwise be in an imaginary world with no CO2 or water vapor.

This thought-experiment-based position relies on the presumption that LW radiation is the main heat transfer mechanism in the Earth’s lower atmosphere, or troposphere. It is not.

Convection, not radiation, dominates heat transfer near the surface. And convection sets the lapse rate, which means that as the density of the atmosphere falls the temperature drops 6.5°C for every km of altitude above the surface. This is why the snow-covered summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro is, for example, about -29°C colder than its base.

"The warming (from ~255 K to ~288 K) is a necessary consequence of the lapse rate, which in turn appears because of convection. Indeed, there would not be a lapse rate without convection.”

"Because the dominant mechanisms operating in the atmosphere are in several respects opposite to that of a greenhouse, the traditional label ‘greenhouse effect’ is arguably inaccurate. …

he expression ‘anti-greenhouse effect’ would be more accurate in describing the behavior of the atmosphere, namely the fact that the convection establishes a lapse rate and thereby a surface temperature above the column-mean temperature, while a greenhouse warms mainly by suppressing convection.”

Not only that, but the variations in LW radiation (attributed to variations in CO2 and water vapor) cannot explain either the lapse rate nor the temperature. Instead, it is the temperature variation that determines the variation in LW radiation, and not the other way around.

"The temperature variation full explains and predicts the variation in the LW radiation.”

"The small changes in the lapse rate cannot be attributed to changes in any component related to radiation. …

he lapse rate is invariant with respect to changes in LW radiation.”

Over the tallest mountain range on Venus, Maxwell Montes, the atmospheric pressure drops from around 92 bars to roughly 45 bars, and the temperature consequently drops about 82°C compared to the average Venus surface temperature. So convection and lapse rate, not CO2 or radiation, dominate heat transfer in the Venus atmosphere too.

Carbon Ratio is NOT Smoking Gun for Human Emissions

Timothy Birdnow

One of the Global Warmist's strongest arguments for the rise in atmospheric carbon dioxide is the fact that lighter-carbon isotopes are what is rising in the Earth's atmosphere. If the rising carbon were from volcanic emissions, the argument goes, it would see heavier isotope - carbon 13 - in higher proportions. That the main gas rising in the atmosphere is carbon 12 rich they say "see!" and say this is the smoking gun that proves it is entirely man-made and not natural (since both wood and coal and petrochemicals are all rich in C12 and lacking in the heavier isotopes.)

Well, here are two papers that disprove that hypothesis.

This first argues rising temperatures causes greater outgasing from plants, and that is rich in c12.

The abstract states:

The impact of certain factors on the changes in atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO₂) concentrations has yet to be elucidated. In particular, the impacts of sea surface temperature (SST) on the balance of CO₂ emissions and absorption in the atmosphere and the human use of fossil fuels have not been rigorously compared. In this study, the impact of each factor was examined using multivariate analysis. Publicly available data from prominent climate research and energy-related organizations were used. Multiple linear regression analysis was performed using the annual changes in atmospheric CO₂ levels for each year as the objective variable. The SST and human emissions for each year were the explanatory factors. After 1959, the model using the SST derived from NASA best represented the annual CO₂ increase (regression coefficient B = 2.406, P < 0.0002, model R² = 0.663, P < 7e-15). However, human emissions were not a determining factor in any of the regression models. Furthermore, the atmospheric CO₂ concentration predicted, using the regression equation obtained for the SST derived from UK-HADLEY centre after 1960, showed an extremely high correlation with the actual CO₂ concentration (Pearson correlation coefficient r = 0.9995, P < 3e-92). The difference was 1.45 ppm in 2022. In conclusion, this study is the first to use multiple regression analysis to demonstrate that the independent determinant of the annual increase in atmospheric CO₂ concentration was SST, which showed strong predictive ability. However, human CO₂ emissions were irrelevant. This result indicates that atmospheric CO₂ has fluctuated as natural phenomenon, regardless of human activity.

Abstract
Recent studies have provided evidence, based on analyses of instrumental measurements of the last seven decades, for a unidirectional, potentially causal link between temperature as the cause and carbon dioxide concentration ([CO2]) as the effect. In the most recent study, this finding was supported by analysing the carbon cycle and showing that the natural [CO2] changes due to temperature rise are far larger (by a factor > 3) than human emissions, while the latter are no larger than 4% of the total. Here, we provide additional support for these findings by examining the signatures of the stable carbon isotopes, 12 and 13. Examining isotopic data in four important observation sites, we show that the standard metric δ13C is consistent with an input isotopic signature that is stable over the entire period of observations (>40 years), i.e., not affected by increases in human CO2 emissions. In addition, proxy data covering the period after 1500 AD also show stable behaviour. These findings confirm the major role of the biosphere in the carbon cycle and a non-discernible signature of humans.

In fact new research shows that carbon 13 has in fact been increasing in the atmosphere along with carbon 12 and that puts the lie to the claim that there is the smoking gun, the fingerprint, the Gang Green has been so desperate to find.

Read all about it at at Climate Dispatch.

Club Tex

This from the Federalist Papers:

U.S. District Judge Robert Pitman ordered Texas on Tuesday to air-condition every state prison by December 31, 2029.
He said the heat in most lockups violates the Constitution’s ban on cruel and unusual punishment.
Pitman is an Obama appointee sitting in Austin. He put that finding in a 150-page order.
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice already said it will appeal. Good.
Federal judges have gotten too big for their britches. They need to stay in their lane or be ignored.
The Eighth Amendment was written to stop torture, not to turn a Texas prison into a hotel. A district judge does not run the Texas Legislature.
Prison is supposed to be harsh and unpleasant.
It is not a country club. It is not a vacation spot. A man who earned a cell did not earn central air on the taxpayer’s dime.
About 108,000 Texas households have no air conditioning at all. Working people live through the same summers without a federal judge rewriting their utility bill.
Nobody calls that cruel and unusual. Requiring air conditioning for prisoners is coddling them.
Just over a third of TDCJ’s 104 units were fully cooled as of September 1. The rest run fans, water, and respite rooms. That is prison. That is the point.
This ruling is insane. Texas should appeal it and keep appealing it.
If the appeals court will not correct it, the state should treat the order the way it treats any other overreach.
A judge in Austin does not get to seize the state budget and the meaning of punishment because a lawsuit landed on his desk.
If a law-abiding family can sweat through August in a house without AC, a convicted inmate can sweat through it in a cell.
Do you think requiring air conditioning in prison is a minimum standard or is it coddling prisoners?

We the (English) People!

This from Daniel Jupp:

"The English are a mongrel people not an Aryan master race”.
That’s a CONSERVATIVE speaking.
Jacob Rees-Mogg, who has spent his whole life cosplaying as an 18th century aristocrat in 19th century attire.
The mongrel people lie goes back to 1701 when William III (William of Orange, who had been installed by essentially an elite coup) was perturbed by people complaining that a Dutch King was surrounded by Dutch courtiers and excluding the English from senior posts in their own country.
William’s response was not to include more Englishmen in his inner circle.
It was to get his State supported propagandist Daniel Defoe (also of foreign extraction) to write a poem insulting the English as a ‘mongrel race’ composed of the products of centuries of rape by every invader who had ever troubled our shores.
That poem was called ‘The True-Born Englishman’ and it contains every sneering lie and insulting dismissal atill used today against the ethnic English.
You are not real. You are mongrels. You don’t exist. You have no right to advocate for yourselves.
In other words, shut up and obey.
In a way this attitude stretches back even further.
The ethnic English, after all, are really the Anglo-Saxons. And in 1066 20,000 Normans conquered 2.5 million Anglo-Saxons by winning a single battle. Just 1% of the population are directly descended from those Normans. Incredibly, a thousand years later, this 1% are still the same 1% who have most of the wealth and power in the UK.
So long before the self hatred in British intellectuals that Orwell spoke about (the only people whose intellectuals hate their own nation), long before mass immigration imported people who never integrated, and long before the poison of leftism endorsed these attitudes too…..the rulers of the English were used to considering the vast majority of the people they ruled inferior beings.
This is why in England it has been especially easy for a ruling elite to become a leftist elite. Both the snob and the radical are instructed from birth that the ethnic English are ‘a mongrel people’-that we deserve to be ruled, that we should not be allowed to rule ourselves, that we are good for throwing into wars that others have decided on but not good for being the people who decide if we actually want such a war.
Jacob Rees-Mogg has finally exposed what lies behind the aristocrat act. It turns out, the worst kind of aristocratic sneer at his own nation’s majority populace. And the great irony is, given that the Left despise him and would happily murder him, it is the same sneer that the Left turn towards those who actually are English.
He is the essence of the failure of conservatism and the incredible position the ethnic English find themselves in. Not since the immediate years after the Norman Conquest and another surge of elite contempt in the State propaganda poems of 1701 have the ethnic English been viewed with such naked contempt by every one of their rulers.
JRM and Andy Burnham are united on this.
The role of the English is to be politically ignored, mocked and betrayed, their very existence denied, while indeed their children are treated as sex slaves in a new conquest with the indifferent and even encouraging support of the ruling class, Left or ‘Right’.

The Oily Bird Catches the Worm

Timothy Birdnow

Sundance at Conservative Treehouse makes an interesting argument that oil prices are not being driven by supply and demand but by speculators and governments and that the whole reason prices are high now is to try to influence the upcoming elections. Sundance thinks prices will drop in a spectacular way come January.

Maybe. I do know American oil companies have not tried to increase production for some baffling reason despite being in the most production-friendly period in their history as far as government is concerned. Now why do you suppose that is?

(Hint; it's because the companies fear the Democrats will get back in power and shut it all back down, and they do so because the Democrats have made it plain they intend to punish anyone who seems to work with Trump.)

Our "friends" the Saudis refused to increase production despite there being high demand right now. Why is that?

Everyone is gunning for Trump. Trump is the turd in the punchbowl of Globalism. Everyone was happy, making money, moving where they wanted the world to go. Trump came along and ruined all that. They all want him out.

So there has been a manipulation of futures and that has manipulated the price at the pump. The public doesn't understand how it works and blame Trump, the only guy who has ever tried to promote more drilling since, well, probably Reagan.

Come Out of Babylon

Timothy Birdnow

I agree.

A big part of it was the infiltration of the universities by communists and other radical leftists who subverted science and research to the service of their ideology. But there is a systemic problem with it too.

Every academic wants to make a splash. They want a Nobel Prize, or a MacArthur award. They want to be noticed, feted, have their names in the news. You don't get that with solid research most times. If your research does not cross a line it is just one pebble on a very large beach.

So everyone in academia is pushing the envelope. The guy who studies human sexuality and says there are just two sexes will at best be ignored and possibly wind up being blackballed. The guy who says there are seventy two of them gets noticed. So a clever academic will work up a ridiculous theory and "prove" it by messaging data and using dubious statistical analysis.

And since that guy succeeded the next guy will have to go further. It reaches a point where you are just doing works of fantasy.

That's academia for you. It has reached the point where it is no longer grounded in reality.

Frederich Nietzche saw this coming. He said science would eventually fall of it's own weight because it would begin questioning it's own fundamental assumptions, that the universe is knowable, that there is a reality that cannot be dismissed, that the scientific method works, etc. Nietzche was right and we have passed that point now.

It is part of why physics has produced nothing new in decades; it has gone off the rails and is chasing the will-o-the wisps of things largely unprovable like string theory or dark matter.

And every study, no matter of ridiculous, gets trumpeted by the media as certain, a major breakthrough, unless, of curse, it supports the old way of thinking, tradition, what have you. Those studies die in darkness because nobody hears about them.

Few academics will throw away their careers by doing a study that shows the old way was right. If you are an economist you won't defend capitalism. If you are a physicist you won't dare say the Copenhagen Interpretation of Quantum Physics is wrong. It would be the end of your career.

So everybody is racing for the craziest re-interpretation of everything.

And because papers have become insane, it has become impossible to do peer review. Nowadays papers are retracted as fast as they are published. There are things called paper mills, which are computer systems that generate bogus papers, often full of absolute gibberish. They always pass peer review because the reviewer does not want to admit he doesn't understand what the paper is saying. Nobody wants to be the guy to reject Albert Einstein's Theory of Relativity. (Nobody understood it then and few do now). So these gibberish papers get published in prestigious journals.

That is, of course, the kindest interpretation of what we are seeing in academia these days.

A big part of the problem was and remains government and NGO funding of research. Everyone wants their slice of that pie, and to do that one would logically give the government or the NGo or the Foundation what they want. We see that in the climate change issue; government wants it, Green NGO's want it, big foundations want it, Silicon valley wants it. So is it any surprise few are doing solid research to rebut the theory? The models have never worked but most papers, even those that hurt the theory, kowtow to climate change in order to keep the funding. Then the Gang Green crows about how 97 percent of scientists agree when in fact most are just afraid of losing funding, or of pissing off their bosses who are afraid of losing funding.

It's a deep-seated corruption that infests the entirety of science and academia.

And the professional organizations have all been taken over by radical leftists. My brother is a history professor and he was a member of several professional historian organizations. He has since quit them all as they have all made sharp left turns. And he has pretty much been blackballed by them; his most recent submissions to their journals have been rejected for no good reason. He's retiring soon so he doesn't care but it is still infuriating. We will have an altered history in the future as those whose task is to preserve knowledge of history are twisting the truth with revisionism.

The crazy left is advancing on all fronts and now control all institutions involving research or education.

In the end the only way to reform this is for it to collapse. The special interests are too entrenched.

And even conservative universities will eventually fall as they hire liberals for "balance" and that is like hiring smallpox to balance good health. There are liberals at Hillsdale and Ave Maria. They hire them because they have this idea that academia needs "balance" and that they have to succumb tot he spirit of the age. But liberals are like a disease and if you let them in they will quickly overrun your antibodies. Get just one of them in the chairmanship of a university department and she'll hire all leftists to fill any vacancies.

My brother discusses that. He taught at McKendree College in Illinois for some time. They wouldn't give him a tenure track position because they said they needed "diversity" and they wanted a woman. Hired a woman to be department chair. My brother left (and they lied about his credentials to justify not hiring him - he saw their file) Now there is not one single man in the department. Not one. Yeah; that's "diversity"!

Leftists operate that way; they are all for diversity until they are not. Traditional thinkers need not apply!

So we have all of the universities now completely controlled by the Progressive Left and there is no alternate views allowed (which is true diversity). That means no papers will be submitted that do not comport with the leftist worldview being foisted off on everyone. In academia it's publish or perish and you can't publish if you will lose your job. So the few conservatives who are left have to tiptoe around, hoping some innocuous paper makes it past peer review into journals without promoting radicalism too much.

Nobody who worked for years to get their doctoral degrees is going to risk that.

We need to completely eliminate the universities. We have the tools now; there are online universities, and trade schools. But they lack the prestige and they lack the social life, the college experience. We need to find a way to make these alternatives more viable in both regards. The only way for us to succeed is to come out of Babylon.

Memories, all Alone in the Moonlight

Timothy Birdnow

I get this; I remember very little from my youth.

In my case it's not just my childhood but my youth; my friends will talk about stuff we did and I will draw a complete blank. Most of the time in fact. But I remember things I read from when I was nine. Go figure.

Medical science has been trying for some time to perfect memory erasing techniques to use on those who have suffered terrible trauma - being raped or seeing a loved one murdered or whatnot. But they can, at best, nuke the memory and not erase targeted parts of it. Should we learn enough about how childhood memories are erased we may be able to simply erase targeted memories.

But we are the sum of our memories; it's the core of our identity. Do we have a right to erase memories, even if they are bad? God gave us those experiences for our ultimate good, even though we suffer from them. Destroying memories is rather like targeted suicide.

And if we can erase key memories, can we not then control minds by eliminating important memories that shape how we think? The next step would be implanting memories.

I am mindful of an original series Star Trek where the administrator of a hospital for the insane uses a machine to erase memories and implant false ones. He uses it on Kirk. Eventually the villain winds up in his own chair and is emptied out by the machine as it erases everything from his mind.

There are serious ethical questions involved in this. But I can see why some people would want to be able to forget some horrible tragedy.

Alaska Drunk on Power

Timothy Birdnow

I'll bet if he was flying marijuana in he would have been fine.

FTA:

The case dates to 2012, when longtime Alaska charter pilot Ken Jouppi agreed to fly a passenger from Fairbanks to Beaver, where alcohol was prohibited. The passenger had 72 cans of beer in her luggage. Most were boxed, but a six-pack was visible in a grocery bag.

Troopers found the alcohol before takeoff. Jouppi was convicted of a misdemeanor after a court determined he had been willfully blind to the beer. He received three days in jail and a $1,500 fine, but Alaska law also required forfeiture of his airplane, worth about $95,000.

Just for flying BEER into a dry county!

America tried prohibition and found it did no good for society. It just increased crime (and for that matter drinking; my grandfather, who drank little, made moonshine during that period) and it did little to prevent alcoholism. You can always make booze in your own home to drink.

The really ridiculous thing is that the state supreme court upheld the judgment. Their reasoning is that the state has a compelling interest in controlling drinking by residents, who literally have nothing to do in their lives during the winter months. The justices on the court apparently do not see this as excessive. It most certainly fits "cruel and unusual punishment", especially the loss of the beer!

This is the kind of thing that leads people to go postal and shoot up a court or whatnot. Juppi was not just wronged - he was abused something awful by the state of Alaska.

Alaska should be a deep red state. The people there pride themselves on being independent and self-reliant. But it's purple at best and the government is quick to send people to jail. Oh, and it is socialistic too; they give dividend checks for oil sales to the residents (the dad and son on the t.v. show Bush People went to prison for taking the dividend while living half-time in the lower 48). I did not know they had dry counties. That suggests a nanny-state attitude in the state that treats people like children. If a guy wants a drink it's his business; if he drives drunk or whatnot then it becomes the states. Otherwise the state should bugger off.

No wonder Alaska has foisted off Lisa Murkowski on America.

Seems to me this is fertile ground for organized crime. I wonder if Alaska has it's own version of the Dixie Mafia?

Canada Murders Grandmother

Timothy Birdnow

Canada just murdered an unwilling elderly woman who cried and begged them not to inject her in exercising their new assisted suicide law.

The poor woman was confused when they asked her about it and then when she understood what she had agreed to she tried to stop it but they went forward with it anyway.

That's what happens when you make yourself judge, jury, and executioner.

Funny; if a normal citizen were to kill a criminal, say, a person who murdered your wife, he would go to jail for vigilantism. But medical authorities can do it in Canada and it's just tough luck old gal!

Frankly, were I her daughter (who is quoted in this article) I may decide on some vigilante action myself with this. I'm sure the Mafia operates in Canada.

At any rate this is a horrible thing but it was entirely predictable. This was, in fact, predicted by Aldous Huxley in Brave New World, a society that values human life only insofar as how it contributes to society. Once someone stops tangibly contributing aka working it's time to simply eliminate them. The plastic paradise of Huxley is exactly what the Left has long wanted and now they are getting it in Canada.

Former Fox Host and Producer Commits Suicide

Timothy Birdnow

A Fox reporter and rising star was found dead of suicide.

The 33 year old woman, Jennifer Eckhart, was found dead in her bathtub by her mother, having killed herself with a knife.

This is a sad situation. Eckhart had accused a Fox host - Ed Henry - of forcibly raping her in 2017, leading to Henry bein ing fired by Fox (and moving to Newsmax). Eckhart did not file criminal charges but did bring a lawsuit, which was settled one day before going to trial.

So what led to Eckhart committing suicide? Was it depression from being raped (a horrible, tragic experience) or was it a guilty conscience for falsely accusing an innocent man? I do not know the circumstances of the case and since it was settled we never will. I rather doubt a woman who settles with a rapist, especially a reporter who is used to public attention. I would think she would want more than just money for her troubles (taking money for being raped makes would feel like prostitution, would it not? She should have wanted jail time for him.)

Eckhart, who left Fox for podcasting, had filed a suit against her former employer, claiming they knew what Henry was doing. It had just been dismissed by a federal court as having been unproven.

I don't know what to think about this case but I do know that what Eckhart did was a terrible thing. Suicide is a form of violence that destroys other people. This woman had at least a mother who loved her and probably others. And what does it accomplish? She didn't hurt Henry, the man she blamed for ruining her life, nor Fox News. It only hurts her family and friends. And the most tragic thing of all is it means eternal damnation; suicides do not go to Heaven. It's a tough rule but the Bible is quite clear on the subject - thou shalt not murder. And people who have had near death experiences via suicide speak of being in a very sad, depressing place with others who looked haunted and were uncommunicative. It's clear there is a pretty severe penalty for suicide.

That said, some people are driven to it by suffering beyond what they can stand. One assumes God knew He was pushing them too far and will excuse the act. But that will not always be the case.

At any rate this is very sad and our prayers should be with the family and with thee woman too. Suicide tears a huge hole in everyone who is associated with the suicide.
