More on the Caitlin Clark saga.

While I know little about the WNBA and care even less I do know Clark has made the League rich and nobody cared about women's basketball until she came into the league. And I also am given to understand that Clark gets beaten around quite a bit with no fouls called.

Can we speak about the elephant in the room? While it appears the women who mugged her were not minorities I am fairly confident that if she were a black player, or Hispanic, the calls would be coming fast and furious while Clark, a very white white girl, is allowed to be mauled and womanhandled. I am of the opinion that this is just another example of institutijonal racism playing out in another cultural entity. You aren't supposed to be a great basketball player if you are white in America.

Having seen the clip just once it appears the players who fouled her may well also have been white, but that's not the point; the pont is that the officials just ignored it because it was CC, the WHITE superstar. If she had been a black superstar the whistles would have blown so loudly you would have heard them in Hoboken.

Maybe I'm wrong about this and maybe the WNBA is just letting their league play rough so as to prevent any accusations that the women are daintier than the men. Oh, and maybe it's the idea of a catfight, adding a little sexual tension to the game. I don't know but I suspect if Caitlin were Consuela there would have been a call.

Anyone dispute this? If so I'm happy to hear the case. As I say, I know little about the WNBA; I am no fan of any basketball, which I think is just dull. But I know how modern America works and I know that most things, especially most big things involving a lot of money, are infested with political ideology.

Please correct me if this isn't the case.

BTW the media is making a big thing out of this. Why? Because they are rather desperately trying to change the subject from the successes that Donald Trump has been having of late. They fear discussing stories about a rising economy or Trump's big wins on border security in court or other such. They need a distraction, a shiny object to diver everyone's attention until this is old news, not worth mentioning. Stories about a woman basketballer being fouled is hardly front page news, no matter who it is. I only mention it because it's the hot topic right now and if you ask me it's a sign of how DEI is alive and well, not that it's of any great existential importance.
