There Are About 165,750 Australians Currently Suffering Flu-Like Symptoms
The whole of Australia was shut-down on 21 March when confirmed Covid-19 cases peaked at around 350 per day before levelling off. Most had little or no symptoms. Currently we have up to 11,000 Australians a day coming down with actual flu-like symptoms, particularly among children
Based on the Australia wide flu-tracking survey, 0.6% - 0.7% of Australians currently have Flu-Like symptoms. At 0.65% that's 165,750 people.
Despite lock downs, social distancing measures, increased hygiene, and quarantining foreign arrivals, there has been an almost doubling of people suffering flu-like symptoms in the past month.

Let's hope our State Premiers don't get wind of this. We've seen what they do when we have mainly asymptomatic Covid-19 cases. What will they do with the news little kids are getting pneumonia?
If you thought there was 'something is going around' you were right. And it isn't Covid-19!

Bear in mind everyone has been in lockdown since March, so they have not been exposed to the current influenza strains and as a result have built up no immunity to them. We have essentially turned ourselves into hothouse orchids, incapable of fighting off illnesses.
