Goodie gumdrops!
They killed the new tax on wind and solar projects.
This was never anything but a scheme to plunder wealth from the American middle class. IF there was a market for wind and solar they would use wind and solar voluntarilly. The fact is it's an expensive and unreliable energy source that still requires fossil-fuel generators on standby. It was purely a tool to reduce the energy usage of the First World.
I would add that this was promoted by Russia.
Energy is the measure of wealth in the modern world and the internationalists sought to reduce ours to balance us out with the developing world, so we could have relative parity and then create world government.
And this got it's big push under George W. Bush, who began promoting this, sounding almost identical to Jimmy Carter, who pushed it in the '70's as a way to stop "Global Cooling" and to make us less dependent on foreign oil. Bush used identical reasoning, only he worried about Global Warming more than cooling, but in the end it was the same arguments. He continued the policy when it became evident that America had all the oil it needed right here - it was just a matter of going and getting it. Trump is going and getting it. "Renewables" are just a toy for guilt-ridden white liberals to feel good about themselves. (Granted, there are a few people who live off-grid and use it, but they are a huge minority and they do it because it's the only way to get power out in the wilderness where they live.)
The only reason we had electric vehicles and the rest is because government funded it. Without the subsidies the companies will phase this stuff out as they are unprofitable and will remain so for the forseeable future. (I've long argued that we need a major change in how we produce power from wind and solar - the traditional methods don't work very well. We don't need bigger windmills we need some entirely new idea. I've long thought about that without much luck.)
Until there is some major scientific breakthrough that makes it possible to generate power from wind and solar cheaply and efficiently and reliably there will be no market for it. All those subsidies have done is make the connected rich at taxpayer's expense.
So today is independence day - from environmentalist price goughing on our energy systems.
