Finally - a Catholic Bishop shows some backbone.

Bishop Paprecki bars pro-abortion Illinois lawmakers from Holy Communion.

If the catholic Church is serious about opposing abortion - and abortion is supposed to be one of the top issues in the Church - then they must start kicking people out if they openly defy Church teaching. It's not like they are doing anything unusual; contrary to popular opinion you are automatically ex-Communicated when you are in serious Sin, and that means willfully ignoring Church teaching. It's just the Church is too polite to publicly condemn you for it. But it's past time for politeness. Catholicism and other Christian sects are dying because they lack intestinal fortitude.

Christ, who was faithful unto death, is, I am sure, ashamed of the cowardice displayed in His name. This act by a Bishop must give Him some small comfort.
