San Francisco is even worse. The Wells Fargo building was worth $105 million in 2005 and just sold for $42.6 million. The owner of downtown Hilton and Parc 55 hotels, 2940 rooms combined on Union Square with value of $1.56 billion in 2016, allowed foreclosure on a $725 million loan. Walked away from $825 million equity.
