The Department of Homeland Security is lavishing money on the World Cup while deportations are languishing.
FTA:
Yep. If they aren't touting the number of deportations it means they aren't happening in large numbers. They have nothing to boast about.
The article continues:
Even taking the 200,000 figure at face value, we’re still talking sub-Obama-level numbers. When Americans voted for Trump, they voted for the largest mass deportation in U.S. history. The second item on his 20 campaign promises spelled it out: millions removed from the interior, more than at any time in history.
Trump himself often invoked Dwight Eisenhower’s "Operation Wetback” as the benchmark. By most estimates, that meant removing about half of the illegal aliens in the country. Applied today, that’s roughly 10 million people — half of the often-cited 20 million total. Nothing we’ve seen so far comes close. The math just doesn’t math.
When you have at least 20 MILLION illegal aliens in the country 200,000 is a drop in the bucket - one hundredth of the total. And given this policy will be reversed as soon as a Democrat is in office (and likely before if the GOP loses Congress) we do not have fifty years to wait (which is how long it will take at the current rate). DHS needs to get cracking.
No doubt Trump is hamstrung by the endless parade of judges who overrule him. And no doubt he's careful to avoid turning Americans off by being "too mean". But he was hired to do this job. We need these people gone.
They should be spending money on America, not on a soccer tournament. Soccer is a sport for Europeans and their colonials. America isn't a soccer loving nation. Let's keep it American.
If the Trump Administration wants to burnish our image internationally he needs tto do what he said he would do. Success does far more than hostting a bunch of euroweenies and Third World Sh^$hole country citizens.
