A pair of senators were caught on a hot mic Tuesday discussing whether President Trump was "crazy” — and whether his administration was capable of crafting a budget.

At the end of a Senate subcommittee hearing, Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) neglected to switch off her microphone and chatted with Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI) about Team Trump’s approach to preparing the federal budget, the Washington Post reported.

"I swear, [the Office of Management and Budget] just went through and whenever there was ‘grant,’ they just X it out. With no measurement, no thinking about it, no metrics, no nothing. It’s just incredibly irresponsible,” said Collins.

"Yes,” Reed answered. "I think — I think he’s crazy. I mean, I don’t say that lightly and [mean that] as a kind of a goofy guy.”

"I’m worried,” Collins replied.
