Just had a pleasant Messenger communication with a former colleague from my years with DuPont.
Don Balius inquired about the seismic rumbling at Iceland.
Such seismic energy release is popping up all over in the Northern Hemisphere. Yellowstone is rumbling and the broad volcano field of Campi Flegrei near Naples is really rumbling,
My guess is that since the crustal stresses have been relieved in the SW Pacific with the eruption of the largest-ever Tonga-Hunga submarine volcano on Jan. 15, 2022, stress accumulation is shifting to the opposite side of the world.
Reykjavik: 64 deg. N latitude,

Horizon Deep in Tonga Trench (deepest point): 23 degrees S. Latitude, 174 degrees West longitude
Aahhh !! The tsunami is fixin’ to break loose at the North Pole !! It’s the BIG ONE ! We’ll all be clobbered by flying icebergs !! Head fer high ground ! No, wait !! Dig an iceberg bomb shelter !!
And while you’re at it, "save the planet.”
Tim adds:
In 536 A.D. an Icelandic eruption blotted the skies of Europe. It turned Ireland completely dark for two entire years (tree rings verify this). The Dark Ages were caused in no small part by this.
We're certainly ripe for a dark age now. All we need is a few enormous disasters. A huge Icelandic eruption could certainly start the dominoes falling.
