Written by yours truly explaining how German intellectuals like Albert Speer walked into the abyss of National Socialism. Eyewitnesses and historians have been scratching their heads for many decades now over how something as brutal and animalistic as National Socialism could have ever come about in the modern West. "How could one of the chief centers of the civilized world have become a torture chamber for millions of people, a country ruled by criminals so effectively that it conquered most of Europe, moving out toward other continents, planting its swastika from Norway to the Caucasus and Africa before it was brought down at the cost of 30 million lives? What happened to the nation of thinkers and poets, the ‘good’ Germans that the 19th century knew?” - Inside the Third Reich Preface

Well, for starters, perhaps all those good German poets and intellects of the 19th century, most of whom were romantically involved in varying degrees with Romanticism and/ or existentialism, and who spent an inordinate amount of time attacking the Biblical faith, were not as good as they have been trumpeted to be. If they had bothered to seriously read books like Hosea, Isaiah and Daniel from the archives of the Old Testament, rather than develop all kinds of contrived, complicated evolutionary schemes to doubt their authenticity, perhaps they could have been warned by such works, and thus avoided the Nazi doomsday, especially with regard to their anti-Semitism.

While much has been made of the fact that many Christians voted for Adolph Hitler, and that the church willingly collaborated with the Nazis, and was often co-opted by them, and was virtually silent during the Holocaust, it seems that much less attention is actually given over to the actual proto-Nazis and perpetrators themselves, i.e., the philosophers, Social Darwinists, secularists, socialists, nationalists, scientists, pantheists, doctors, lawyers, environmentalis ts, landscape planners, cultists, policemen, etc., who did a much better job of the laying the groundwork for the Holocaust, and/ or were later actually involved in its horrific crimes. While many of the perpetrators would have certainly had some sort of church background, both Protestant and Catholic Christianity had become very nominal by the early 1900s—with no small thanks to all of the good German thinkers and intellects of the 1800s who disdained the Bible, including liberal theologians schooled in Schleiermacher’s theological Romanticism that valued religious feelings based on natural impulses over the dogmatic content of Scripture rooted in Jewish history.

More to the point, while Christianity had unfortunately institutionaliz ed anti-Semitism in Europe for centuries, it must be pointed out the Holocaust did not occur until after Germany had become completely awash in Biblical skepticism and secularity. In spite of constant Christian anti-Semitism that included severe discrimination, inquisitions and pogroms over the centuries against the Jews, there was no Holocaust in Christian Europe for more than 1,500 years until the Second World War in the 20th century. As Dr. Robert Zubrin acutely points out, "Anti-Semitism had existed in Germany—and in many other countries, such as France, Poland, and Russia, sometimes to a much greater extent—for centuries prior to the Holocaust, with no remotely comparable outcome.”

Secularism invariably led to a free-for-all godlessnesss, without which, the historicity of the Holocaust cannot be properly explained.
