I’m a member of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) as well as the Geochemical Society. I get their regular newsletters.
The AGU publishes the Geophysical Research Letters. They can have some real b.s. about man-made climate change. Fortunately, I find some real good stuff from the Geochemical Society. The published literature estimates 40 to 50 "hot spots” globally (Yellowstone, Hawaiian Islands, Iceland) but that number is growing as "petit-spot” submarine volcanoes are coming to light. Right now the climatistas are anxious about the warm waters of the Gulf of Maine, but Wha-La ! Eons ago the Gulf of Maine was very volcanic.
This paper originated at Waseda University in Japan. A good deal of deep water research goes on there.
Petit-Spot Volcanoes Involve the Deepest Known Submarine Hydrothermal Activity, Possibly Release CO2 and Methane
