GOF U

Timothy Birdnow

Here is a lengthy analysis of the pros and cons of "Gain of Function" research. It is worth a read.

My own view is that GOF research is a Frankensteinian form of hubris that could well lead to utter destruction and is best avoided. The benefits of any such research are far outweighed by the dangers.

At any rate, one wonders if the plagues of the Apocalypse are not the results of mad scientists (like Anthony Fauci) playing with forces beyond their understanding. Certainly they seem content to gamble with humanity's existence.
