George Floyd did not Die of Strangulation or Suffocation

Timothy Birdnow

Preliminary findings from the medical examiner in the George Floyd murder investigation do not show that Mr. Floyd was killed by strangulation of suffocation.

From Powerline:

Today we got the first information from Hennepin County’s Medical Examiner, in an attachment to the criminal complaint against officer Derek Chauvin:

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner (ME) conducted Mr. Floyd’s autopsy on May 26, 2020. The full report of the ME is pending but the ME has made the following preliminary findings. The autopsy revealed no physical findings that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation. Mr. Floyd had underlying health conditions including coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease. The combined effects of Mr. Floyd being restrained by the police, his underlying health conditions and any potential intoxicants in his system likely contributed to his death.

Emphasis added. Further, the complaint’s Statement of Probable Cause recites that Floyd complained of being unable to breathe well before Officer Chauvin put his knee on Floyd’s neck:

While standing outside the car, Mr. Floyd began saying and repeating that he could not breathe.

1 This may not be the exact place for this comment, but the word has come from the cops in St. Paul that the people arrested last night in all the burning and pillaging are NOT locals; indeed, they are from OUT OF STATE. Hello, George Soros?

2  A Theory I heard and considering all that is happening is the Chicoms may be funding some of this.I am sure they are agitating the various commie groups.

3 As usual, the report was premature. St. Paul and Minneapolis mayors, and Minnesota Governor, were acting on inaccurate information. Just about everyone arrested were home-brew goons. Naturally the mayors are blaming "inaccurate police reports," and it may even be true. At lease Governor Walz is taking a "buck stops here" approach -- I must say I'm impressed.

4 That is an interesting theory Mike.

I don't know how much I believe a liberal Democrat mayor, Dana, although I don't see the upside for him. But maybe the Democrats in general laid down the law (so to speak) and told him to refute claims this is a rent-a-mob?  There is much to be gain from it being local, at least in terms of public credibility. People aren't believing the media and political class these days.

5 Frankly, Tim, I seriously doubt I'd want to believe either of them if we were talking and they called me by my correct name -- and I was wearing a nametag. I was fairly impressed by Gov. Walz's remark wherein he accepted the blame for the supposed erroneous police reports, though that could also be window-dressing -- who knows, with liberals who are trying to implement squirrel politics?

Meanwhile, Minnesota's AG Keith Ellison, Louis Farrakhan's old buddy, writes a cover-his-ass article in Fox News here: https://www.foxnews.com/politics/minn-ag-ellison-says-he-has-evidence-of-outsiders-contributing-to-riots-while-calling-out-endemic-problem-with-minneapolis-police if you have the stomach for it, have a go at it.

6 Thanks Dana; I will. I despise Ellison but it would be worth reading what he is peddling in this.
