I guess God was just kidding when He gave us Leviticus 18:22 ,Leviticus 20:13, Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Jude 1:7, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, 1 Timothy 1:8-11?
Allowing CLOSETED gay men to become priests led to the church's worst scandal ever as priests took advantage of young boys. Why does Francis believe this will fix the problem? For that matter, allowing gay scouts into the BSUSA, then gay scoutmasters, led to a terrible pedophilia scandal that almost (well, actually did) destroyed the Boy Scouts. Bringing it out in the open does not stop sexual misbehavior - it only exacerbates it.
I guess Frankie is unaware that far more homosexual men started having sex quite young and with older men aka they were molested. In fact molestation is a primary recruitment tool for homosexuals; get the kids just as their sexuality is asserting itself, twist and deform it, and they own the kids. See here.
Putting "openly gay men" in the priesthood is a terrible idea; it would be better to recruit women to the priesthood than open sinners, which is what they are.
Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, nor take part in the sins of others; keep yourself pure. John 5:30
In Matthew 18:17 Jesus admonished His Church on how to deal with unrepentant sinners:
17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector .
That means cut them off. Yet here Francis wants to include them and thus multiply their sins.
Sin is infectious; it is a contagion, caught by others. You do not need more unrepentant sinners you need fewer or their errors will spread.

How many souls are going to be damned because Francis wants to implement DEI on the Church?

A while Mike; there are still like two billion Catholics. But what we'll see are schisms as traditional Catholics break away from the authority of an apostate Church. I'm about ready to join them, frankly.
