Fox Hysterical About McCarthy

I watched Fox this weekend because I was staying in a hotel and it was available. All they did was whine about how terrible it was to not simply crown McCarthy. They had Newt Gingrich on and he was apoplectic, saying it was just about the members in opposition and no concern for the good of the party. Well, McCarthy has been the leader of the GOP there since Pee Wee Herman (Paul Ryan) and what has he accomplished? Not one blessed thing. He hasn't even tried. We need a leader, not a seat warmer. It's time for leadership change. Gingrich has shown himself to be an idiot on multiple occasions, I might add. He was the guy who assured us that the Chinese would become just like us if we gave them preferential trade. And he was the architect of the "duck and cover" strategy that cost the GOP in the '98 elections.

I think what they're looking for is at least SOME of the kind of discipline that the donkeys always show. Can you imagine if the elephants had that? We'd be much better off if we had it.

Unfortunately if that were the case the RINO wing would own the party and we'd have amnesty three times over by now, or socialized medicine. The rancor in the GOP is a good thing, I think.
Yes the discipline helps you win. But it also makes a party that is uniform and follows each-other straight to Hell. It's why the Democrats are now a socialist party; they had party discipline and forced everyone to conform to the leftist narrative.

Well, Steven Hayward, over at Power Line, thinks this charade will be over soon, because without a Speaker, the House members cannot be sworn in, and if they can't be sworn in, they can't be paid. And if they can't be paid, they're all going to starve... well, no, but you know these dudes ARE all in it for the money.

I think Steven Hayward is probably right about that Dana. And it'll be the opposition to McCarthy who will eventually cave. They aren't going to have much of a choice. And if McCarthy is the politician I think he is he'll offer them some sweetheart deals enough of them will take. He's already tried to do that.
I wish Jim Jordan would just accept the post already. He's the best choice.
For that matter, they could nominate someone from the past - like Newt Gingrich. As I said, Gingrich has shown himself to be out there and he did screw up the wet dream the GOP had back in the nineties, but he'd be better than Tailgunner McCarthy here. You do not have to be an elected member of the House to serve as Speaker, as you know.
