Our rampant relativism breeds people who make everything relative to themselves and their time; this engenders a chronological chauvinism — attended by nebulous blather about undefined "progress†— that assumes "new†is better because the new is of the now. But even the latter is usually an errant assumption, as new ideas are often just forgotten old mistakes."

The only problem with that theory is that eventually you run out of stores to loot, and the owners go elsewhere to re-start their businesses.
