1 No s**t, Sherlock! Government service was supposed to be a chore that citizens would undertake for the good of the country, serve a term or two and go back home to tend the family farm.

Democracy, also a republic, only work until the people running it can set their own pay. But the worst part is the way those in "government service" can enrich themselves by "other means." The Biden family is a textbook example, and I'm fairly sure that DiFi's fortune was made in ways that wouldn't pass the strong light of the sun.
