The Religion of Leftism
From the article:
"Over the last decade, America has moved drastically to the left. Not only are more people on the left than ever before, the left is further left than it's ever been. This radical brand of progressivism has come to be known as "leftismâ€â€an extreme yet increasingly dominant segment of the political spectrum.
At the same time, America has grown more secular. According to Pew, "religious nones"Â are rapidly growing in number. These "nones"Â are most concentrated among millennials: 36% of millennials are religiously unaffiliated. Millennials happen to also be America's most politically progressive generation.
This probably isn't a coincidence, especially since the same trends have occurred in a similar way in other parts of the world, such as Europe. While correlation doesn't prove causation, politics and religion are so closely related that it's hard to believe the simultaneous popularization of extreme leftism and secularism is insignificant.

Thanks Jack!
And yet this secular religion offers no hope beyond that last gasp in the hospital. It must be terribly sad to be a Millennial and believe you have the clock ticking.
Fay Voshell adds:
Tim replies:
Amen to that Fay. The Churches have a lot to answer for.
This morning I went to mass and the readings were about the Tribulation - and how we should face it with courage. What does the pastor speak about? Inviting people over for Christmas. There is not just not a sense of urgency in Catholicism but a complete cluelessness, a sense that all is just hunkey-dorey. It astonishes me how obtuse the leaders of all the Christian faiths (and I suspect of Judaism as well) have become. They are more interested in things of this world. I cannot remember hearing a "fire and brimstone" sermon in a long, long, long time, even while what are considered mortal sins have become part of our culture. The primary job of the Church is to keep people out of Hell. Now they are giving their blessings to the Hell-bound.
Fay responds:
We are in agreement, Tim. The whole counsel of God is not being preached. Or heeded.
And Tim replies:
Yes indeed, Fay.
I am mindful of two Biblical passages, one from the Old Testament and one from the New:
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
Deut. 4:2
and
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Rev. 22:10
Clearly the Churches have subtracted a great deal of what The Lord commanded in favor of friendship with the world. A LOT of people are going to wind up losing their spot in the Book of Life because of it.
