Questions of racism linger as Harry, Meghan step back

I was wondering how long it would be before some woke bloke started hollering "racism".

Look, Britain has a lot of black people these days, and they have always had a rather warm hearted feeling towards black folks. What they haven't had was an AMERICAN black woman marrying a pasty British royal.

That is not to say the young couple is being discriminated against by the British People, but it IS to say that the Brits probably aren't thrilled with an American princess.

It used to be you were out if you married a commoner. Prince Charles, the man child in an eternal waiting room for the throne, had to marry Diana Spencer because she was in the royal lineage and could serve as the King's Queen. See, Charles WANTED to marry Camilla Parker Bowels, but he couldn't because she didn't have the right genes. (Granted, he said he wanted to live in her jeans, but that is a homophone) You can't become a royal just by marrying one - or at least you didn't used to be able to do so.

Meghan Markel doesn't like being a princess. It is too demanding, of your time and your life. You have to dress appropriately at all times. You cannot eat garlic or onions or refried beans or anything that would make you flatulent or smelly. You have to behave properly; no nose picking or pulling the underwear out of the crotch of your pants or inappropriate scratching. You have to use stilted, polite, passionless speech.

None of which is apt to suit any American girl, but especially one who was a celebrity in Hollywood.

See, she thought she would be an uber celebrity, not a prisoner of an insane Emily Post. She is just now realizing she is trapped in the Pierrefeu
gulag.

And there is nothing snootier than a British aristocrat. To quote Alan Rickman's character in the movie Bottle Shock "you think I'm an asshole but I'm not. It's just that I'm British...and you're not." Pretty much sums it up.

So Meghan wants out, and her Harry hubby does too. But what good is just walking away? You lose the taxpayer dollars. You lose the prestige. You lose the pride of a nose stuck well into the air.

So the ex-royals are trying to blame racism to surf the waves of wokeness. When in doubt, get woke! It buys you the kind of celebrity you crave, without all the unpleasant stuffiness.

Harry and Meg are trying to have their cake and eat it too. There is talk about their keeping their titles even while not actually doing their jobs. There is talk about them having a stipend to live on, even though they have abandoned the royal life. And they know the British public isn't on board with more freeloaders, so they have to appear victims. Oh, it isn't THEM, it's those nasty Brexit types who made Meghan feel unwelcome!

It doesn't wash, gang. Of course, Meghan Markel doesn't either (she has people for that), which is why she wants to hang on to her princesshood while living like any other Hollywood hanger-on.
