This is so, well, Muslim; erase history and impose your own. One of the first things the Muslims do when they take control of a country is to tear down memorials and statues and other symbols of the old order. Taking down symbols of the Confederacy is just another way of doing the very same thing. I wrote about this a while back.

Sun Tzu admonished his readers to seize that which the enemy holds dear. In political terms that would be the old cultural icons. The Progressives are stealing our culture bit by bit and substituting their culture of guilt and shame. It's their way to break us as Americans.

You think maybe this is the Left's way of trying to cover up the fact that, years ago, we fought a bloody war to abolish slavery in this country? They don't want to acknowledge that fact.

No they don't Dana. Nor do they want to recognize anything that happened prior to the Progressive era. All history begins with them, or so they want to suggest. That way people can forget how things were done prior to their reign.
