Erasing Lincoln

Eleanor Holmes Norton reintroduced a bill to Congress to remove the Emancipation statue of Abraham Lincoln from a D.C. Federal park.
Well, if we are going to erase Abraham Lincoln perhaps we should erase all of his works as well? Eliminate the Emancipation Proclamation and the 13th Amendment?
That's how cancel culture works, right?
The monstrous ingratitude toward the best friend African Americans ever had is astonishing. Lincoln gave up so very much in the pursuit of emancipation. He sent so many men to their deaths and killed so many more people from starvation in the aftermath of the war, and it weighed terribly on him. So he didn't speak as if blacks were the equals of whites; so what? He had to say those things to be seen as a centrist or he would have been dismissed as a radical and accomplished nothing. Of course I doubt Eleanor Holmes Norton even knows that Lincoln and the GOP were the primary opponents of slavery and HER party was the one that fought to keep it in existence.

Somehow, I don't think African-Americans would take kindly to being enslaved again, even though so many of them still carry around the attitude.

No I don't think they would Dana. Funny though how they want to erase the guy who rescued them in the first place.

Most of 'em don't know he was the one who did it. And too many of 'em these days don't even know they WERE rescued. Listen to how they talk!
