A college professor jokes with another professor on an elevator about what floor he wanted. "ladies lingerie", the old gag line, got him an ethics violation charge. When he refused to issue a full apology to the Gender Study's professor, he compounded his "sin" by calling her complaint frivilous. From Reason:
"Last month, Richard Ned Lebow, a professor of political theory at King's College, found himself in a crowded elevator with Simona Sharoni, a professor of gender studies at Merrimack College, during an academic conference in San Francisco. Sharoni asked Lebow what floor he needed. He replied: "ladies' lingerie."
It was a stupid joke—a "standard gag line," Lebow later explained, according to The Chronicle of Higher Education. But Sharoni didn't think it was funny. And so she filed a complaint with the International Studies Association, whose conference they were both attending.
An ISA committee found that Lebow had indeed violated the group's code of conduct."

This is the inevitable outcome of a culture whereby free speech is censored to comform with a political belief system. The natural behavior of people - men and women both - must be suppressed in order to avoid any possibility of giving offense, no matter how innocent the speech or behavior. And somebody WILL take offense.
In fact, that is the whole point; feminists understand that by taking offense they are exercising power over men and traditionalist-minded women, and the purpose is ultimately to "train" them like circus elephants. These are not people interested in equality or fairness or respect; they are supremacists, seeking to dominate men. It really is that simple. This woman knows full well that nothing was meant by the remark, but she wants to exercise power over this beta male. Eventually men will surrender completely and allow her - clearly a mediocrity in the academic sense (or she wouldn't be teaching gender studies, a fake discipline) to reach the top not just of her field but of academia in general. It is an equalizer, the equivalent of an automatic weapon. She may not be smart but she at least is smart enough to know how to drag others down.l
Feminism is nothing but a tool to help the mediocre get a leg up. It's time we stop playing their game. Many men and traditional women acquiesced to this long ago because they thought they were being kind, being fair. But it was a ruse and now we have absolute proof. We've got to start punching back at this sort of thing. I for one will not make the mistake of the author of this piece and pay lip service to anti-"sexism"; sexism cuts both ways, and for the last half century men have been horribly victimized by feminist sexism. That has to stop.
