Easter’s blue moon is a message from the heavens

Dana Mathewson

I think you'll all appreciate this more than rants about guns from me.

From the article:

"We are able to see five planets with the naked eye: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. And Saturday night – just hours before Easter sunrise services – we are being treated to a blue moon. That’s the name given to the second full moon in a month, something that happens roughly every 2.7 years

Moreover, this Easter’s blue moon is extra special, because it is the second one this year. The next time two blue moons occur in one year will be 2037."

A word from Tim:

Thanks Dana; very nice. Were I of a superstitious bent I would see this as a sign of some sort.

It gets even more interesting for me when I consider that Easter falls on April Fools Day, which happens to be my grandfather's birthday. And by Wednesday we will have the one year anniversary of my mother's death, which was one year to the day from the death of my uncle - her brother.

But, as the author says, this is not about mystical numerical relationships or whatnot, but about God''s handiwork and the glory that He put in the sky for us. When one considers the Universe we realize how insignificant we are in the grand scheme of things, no matter how important the Washington Establishment thinks they are or our liberal friends.

There is an old analogy where you take a basketball and use it to represent the sun, then take marbles to represent the planets of the solar system, Using that as scale the furthers marble you would place to represent the solar system would be less than nine feet from the basketball. Now, if the basketball is in, say, Minneapolis, you would have to place a second basketball in Washington to represent the distance to Alpha Centauri. That's the CLOSEST star!

Modern man is such an arrogant lot, thinking we are so important when we are less than specks in the universe. And that is just a speck, a meager thought in the mind of God. It's no wonder God told Abraham he would die if he saw His face; nobody could stand that type of majesty and live.

And yet for all of that He loves us and cares about us - enough to send his Son to die in our place. Think about that on this Easter morn!
