This reminds me of the movie Mars Attacks where the Martians use a laser to recarve Mt. Rushmore into the heads of famous Martians. They would do that in a heartbeat.
Actually it reminds me of the Taliban in Afghanistan dynamiting the statues of Buddha. We have sunk to the level of Talibani.
