I may have just found the answer to the drones flying over Jersey and Pennsylvania, New York and Virginia! Or at least one of them, anyway.
In another budget-busting deal from our hero, the Rick Moranis of the GOP, House Speaker Mike "Tiny" Johnson,there is this provision:
My oh my! "Counter the threat from drones" right at a time when we have drones buzzing about like flies at an outhouse in midsummer! Does that coincidence strike anyone as, uh, fortuitous for them?
There is a move afoot to pass a kind of Patriot Act for drones, to ban their use by private citizens. Up until now governments were the only ones to hold the high ground, to control aerial surveillance and attack. Drones level that playing field, thus allowing some revulutionary army to compete with the bombers and fighter jets and other aerial technology. Can't have that!

"Reauthorization the Department of Homeland Security's unmanned aircraft systems program, which would allow for coordination among all Homeland Security agencies to address and counter the potential threats from drones."

I take it this will also kill the entrepreneurs who are making a living using drones to apply fertilizer, weed and bug spray and reseeding in agriculture.

It might Mike. On the other hand it would probably not BAN those kind of drones, just make the owners register them and pay taxes (which is as much the point as anything). But then they could just kill them off entirely.
