The Walrus attacks Trump's foreign policy over Russia:
— John Bolton (@AmbJohnBolton) August 26, 2025
Who cares? India has been taking advantage of the U.S.for decades. And we really don't need anything from them except cheap call centers and H1B IT guys.
It is believed Bolton was using a homebrew server ala Hilary Clinton to hide his own duplicity. He stands accused of sending classified information to family members via said server. He clearly has been violating the Logan Act.
Bolton posted on his largely inactive X account:
So waht? Have we changed OUR goals of dragging the Ukraine into the European/New World Order? Well, we have under Trump. But you notice Bolton offers no soluttions to this matter - just more warfare against the Russians.
A realist knows that the Ukrainians will have to cede at least some territory at this point. And it was the policy of men who think like John Bolton that led to this - not Trump's rather dovish approach. This thing could have been avoided had aggressive diplomacy been employed at the very beginning. Now both sides are angry and hardened.
It should be pointed out that according to the United Nations charter ArticleI sec. 2 states quite plainly that a people have the right of self-determination, and the people of the Dombas region are ethnically Russian by and large - and they have voted to secede from the Ukraine and join the Russian Federation. While one may doubt the validity of a vote after being invaded it is still clear the Russian minority in the Ukraine has the right to self-determination under international law and thus the Ukrainian claim over the region has little more weight than does the Russian as far as international law is concerned. Perhaps there needs to be another vote, one monitored by the international community?
No doubt what Bolton wants is boots on the ground, thus triggering WWIII and perhaps a nuclear exchange. This for a country America has little actual interest in protecting.
Yes, we did give them a security guarantee back at the fall of the U.S.S.R. (Bill Clinton did that to make them give up their nuclear weapons - a foolish mistake trusting Der Schlichster.) But such internaitonal agreements are not intended to be eternal, and we have no real interests in the region.
I would add it was NATO belligerence that forced Russia's hand in the first place; NATO absorbed the former Warsaw Pact countries (in violation of a verbal agreement) and has even pushed into the Baltic States - part of the old Soviet Union. But Ukraine is different; it's one of "The Russias" along with Beloru and of course Russia proper. To the Russians it's rather like the British going into Texas in the 1830's; we would never have tolerated that. Russia still sees Ukraine as a renegade province. That the pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych was forced out by the CIA-inspired coup known as the Orange Revolution only sticks in their craw even more. They see the govenrment of Ukraine as a puppet regime for western bankers and NATO Eurotrash.
That doesn't make the Russians the good guys, but they have a legitimate point.
Also, NATO military expansion, such as anti-ballistic missiles in Poland and Hungary and such places, was clearly provocative to them. They felt they needed a buffer and now.
Putin invaded Georgia for the same reasons; NaTO was sniffing around that Asian country which has no ties to the North Atlantic.
Bolton ignores all of this and simply argues for war, war, war. It's his response to any stimulus.
Trump IS going to have a hard time negotiating a settlement now, primarily because both sides have their backs up. Any negotiated settlement will require compromise, and that compromise will be seen as a surrender by at least some in the respective countries.
It was Bolton and people like him who demanded Russian surrender that led to this situation. Russia could probably have been pressured out as long as Putin had something to show the Lyubi (people) back home. But that's not what Biden insisted on, and no doubt the Walrus was all in on this policy demanding surrender. Putin dare not surrender or appear to have; it means his life and he's not going to wind up in a spider hole like Saddam Hussein. Oh, and if Putin goes most of the people waiting in the wings are even nastier.
The Eskimo called walruses "tooth walkers". That seems a fitting moniker for Mr. Bolton. He is all mouth and blubber. (BTW the new P.C. term for Eskimo is Innuit and we are shamed into using it, but it's a misnomer as Innuit are just one tribe of Arctic dweller along with the Siberian and Alaskan Yupik, and Iñupiat peoples. Eskimo is more inclusive and should be used. If the PC police don't like that too bad.)
