Demography is Destiny

Don't get too excited by this; while the population shift gives an immediate benefit to the GOP these people aren't leaving their political philosophy but their states. I doubt they are going to change how they vote. In a short time they will start asserting power over these Republican states and they will perhaps flip them blue.

We've seen this in many places - Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, etc. Texas, for all it's cowboyswagger, is only pink, not truly red, and with the influx of techies from California as well as hipsters intto Austin we may see Texas flip in the years to come. Ditto Tennessee. And Florida just flipped but Florida has so much to offer - and New York is emptying out into Florida - that it may switch back. People know they are leaving a bad situation but not WHY the situation is bad. Most will continue to vote as they always have, only now they are thrreatening to kill the golden-egg laying goose.
Why don't liberals move to other Blue states? Because they are just as bad. Always it's the "wrong people" running things, these liberal dopes believe. If they can take over another place and just start fresh...
Still it's delightful to watch the Democrats sweat.

The Democrats have long known this too but figured the media would run cover for them as they pulled all manner of dirty tricks to make it appear they are stronger than they really are (such as heavy gerrymandering, mail in voting, etc. ) They have relied on gaslighting to make people believe they were the future - all the while they've been quietly losing their power. Eventually someone peeks behind the facade of a Potemkin Village.
But don't count them out. There are plenty of dirty tricks left in their bag.

Yes, that is what is going to happen with some of the relocators. Not all, but some, who after all are relocating for reasons other than political: jobs, schools, so-called affordable housing, and many other reasons too numerous to list here (which just mean I can't think of them right now).

No two ways about it. These are people who do not grasp the connection between public policy and the socio-economic circumstances under which they live. They are moving for greener pastures but still believe in the lie they were sold long ago. So they will remain faithful Democrats and ruin the place they sought to escape their crumbling homes. And in the process will turn them into the very hellholes they fled.
Most people are shallow and only think in terms of what they want. They never think about how to achieve those ends or why they may even want them.
