A NOTE FROM TIM:
I've been saying this for some time; demographics are not destiny, because people are not genetically predisposed to party affiliation. If that were true the Black community would have remained with the Republicans. Once they were a solid voting block for the GOP, until Roosevelt came along and seduced them with taxpayer dollars and promises of better jobs. Now they are solidly Democrat, and that is a function of poor education, as a majority of African Americans no doubt believe the Republicans were the ones who promoted slavery and Jim Crowe - a lie pushed on them by a horrible liberal public education system.
The fact is this can change, just as any sort of concept may change over time. People are not hard-wired to think a certain way. Oh, there may be some wiring in the brain as a result of education and experience, but politics is not a genetically determined thing. Just because a demographic is growing, and it has been historically politically leaning in a certain direction, does not mean it will remain so. In the end, a great many people may be brought around through education, if only by the leaders of a political party.
The Reagan Revolution faltered because Republicans forgot how it worked. Reagan explained conservatism, and he made it exciting and agreeable. His successors listened to the consulting classes, tailoring their message rather than their approach, and thus losing the actual point. Now half of America doesn't believe in conservatism because they have never actually been taught about it, except by liberal professors who rail against it, but a new generation is coming and if Trump successfully implements a conservative agenda he will win a large swath of those hostile to our beliefs over to our side. That could include blacks, hispanics, and even some of the liberal Jews (just as Reagan won over the "neocons", Jews who had been Democrats prior to his coming along).
In the end we all have a choice. This is unfashionable to liberals, who preach a Gospel of determinism, but the reality is Man is a free moral agent, not an automaton. Politics is an extension of free will.
