Here is an update on the embezzlement at the Ethical Society of Police here in St. Louis. (Yes, you heard that right.) In an interesting turn of events we learn that the head of the primarily black police organization with the now quite ironic name has been the culprit in the $200,000 and change heist. His name is Darren Wilson.
Not THE Darren Wilson of Ferguson infamy, but the man who everyone thought was the officer involved when the police first announced his name. This Officer Wilson laughed it off at the time - but it turns out he was the worse of the two.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch has the story:
"Sgt. Darren Wilson, 41,was suspended without payin March 2015, amid ongoing internal and criminal investigations into "financial irregularities†discovered by the Ethical Society of Police in December. As muchas $200,000 went missing from the organization.
A federal grand jury indicted Wilsonon Thursday on nine felony counts of wire fraud. The indictment remained sealed until Monday when he turned himself in, according to a press release from the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri."
End excerpt.
This whole story is just wrong on so many levels.
