Geriatric RINO Republican former Senator John Danforth is as bad as it gets.

Mr. Danforth has always meddled with Missouri politics and not for the better. It was Danforth who probably brought the old Charles Jaco tape to Media Matters that brought down the candidacy of Todd Akin, giving us six years of Claire McCaskill. (Danforth wanted a RINO and supported a no-name businessman; he hated Akin because he was too conservative).

Danforth also presided over the funeral of Tom Schweich, who killed himself over chronic Crohne's disease. Schweich, a state auditor until his death, Danforth, an Episcopal priest, presided at the funeral.

BUT afterwards Danforth, in a vile display, accused Conservatives of bullying Schweich to his death.  Schweich was Jewish and Danforth tried to accuse Republicans of staging a "whisper campaign" against him.

No, it wasn't the suffering from Crohnes, the endless medications (he was taking something like 26 a day), the pain and the inability to go anywhere,  it was those racist bigoted right wing deplorable Tea Party guys!

Danforth said this at the funeral. It was like a reverse Paul Wellstone memorial service, only it was the billionaire Danforth, full of nobless oblige, attacking the trogladytes in his own party for daring to take a stand.

He hates Donald Trump and worked against him.

He called the modern Republican party a "grotesque characature"

Well, he's at it again, and this is a doozie.

Danforth is promoting a RINO run not as a Republican but as an independent.

The race for the U.S. Senate here in Missouri is nip-and-tuck between Missouri's former (disgraced) Governor Eric Greitens and State Attorney General Eric Schmidt.

Greitens, you may remember, was taken out by a Soros-backed BLM type prosecuting attorney in St. Louis, on charges of violation of privacy for taking sexually explicity photos of his mistress. It was a kangaroo court and Greitens was NOT convicted but he resigned to stop the abuse he was receiving.

Greitens,a formerDemocrat, was not exactly a conservative, but he was more a populist along Trumpian lines, brash and bullish and he was a reformer. The state GOP turned against him because he wanted to rein in lobbying, and a lot of top Republicans were about to retire and take lobbying jobs.

So nobody took any action to save Greitens, and Missouri now has a RINO Governor, weak and feckless.

But Eric Schmidt has largely proven to be a good, solid Conservative.

But either way, these two are wholly unacceptable to the rampaging RiNO John Danforth.

So he's backing an independent run by attorney John Wood, a guy who sat on the January six investigatory commission.

In other words, a guy who is helping the Democrats take out the MAGA wing of the GOP.

(I would add the MAGA wing is merely the coalescence of all those disaffected with the last twenty or so years. It's the old Tea Party. It's the old labor Democrats. It's the working class and middle class. Not acceptable to Mr. Danforth.)

This will, of course, split the GOP and perhaps give the Democrats the Senate seat, but Danforth could not care less. The REAL danger is the Conservatives in his own party. Danforth never saw the Democrats nor the socialism creeping into this country as any sort of threat. He is the absolute worst sort of Quizling.

And he has billions of dollars to play with to promote the Rinoization of the GOP. And a RINO Republican party is at best a loser and in fact is fabian socialist.

But what does he care? He can retire to his gated community and pay private security to keep him safe while the rst of us face disaster.

The "Conscience of the Senate" they used to call him. I'm sorry but he's not Jiminy Cricket. He's more like the evil voice telling the schizophrenic patient to kill himself.
