Australia has far fewer people in ICU with Covid-19 than we normally would with seasonal influenza. And far fewer people have died from Covid-19 in Australia than we normally have deaths from seasonal influenza and pneumonia. Given we closed our international borders and require entrants to quarantine, if we had state governments with half decent contact tracing systems, these blanket lockdowns should be unnecessary.
