As I've grown bored with detailing the given convention speakers, I am simply going to say last night was terrific! Every speaker was excellent, with the exception of Ivanka Trump, who gave a remarkably good speech for a Democratic Convenention but one that pretty well stunk it up for a Republican. She spouted off about all the great stuff government can and will do for everyone, spending my tax dollars without my permission. And the causes she champions are rather dubious. She had no business being on that stage.
I thought Trump did well but he did drag on a bit too long. He was a bit too restrained too; they had probably over-prepped him so he wouldn't go off script. I understand; they are appealing to the undecided right now. But Trump is best when he ad-libs and goes after the media. I had hoped he would point to the cameras and say "there they are..."
The news folks at PBS and CBS were not happy at all. That alone tells us this convention made a big splash.
