Comrad Hussein John Brennan

Timothy Birdnow

Andrew Boston pens a fine essay exploring John Brennan's intellectual roots in both Marxism and Islam.

From the essay at Gateway Pundit:

"the Marxist Social Labor Federation of Britain had adopted Karl Marx’s "Das Kapital” [Capital] as their infallible authority, "an article of faith from which they will permit no dissent, on pain of excommunication.” Vedder, a Professor of Church History at the Upland, Pennsylvania Crozer Theological Seminary, added that this British Marxist organization rejected the orthodoxy of its own votaries unless they professed as their creed, "There is no God, and Karl Marx is his prophet” — mirroring the Islamic declaration of faith, or "shahada”

[...] "No one dominating our immediate attention deficit disordered news cycle better epitomizes this totalitarian ideological convergence of Communism and Islam than ex-CIA director, John Brennan."

[...]

"Ignoring Islam’s antithetical concept of freedom as hurriyya—perfect slavery to Allah’s Sharia—Brennan’s thesis also argued that freedom "cannot be labeled as a Western idea,” and "is very much a part of Islamic culture.” Hurriyya, "freedom,” is—as Ibn Arabi (d. 1240) the lionized "Greatest Sufi Master,” expressed it—"perfect slavery.”

[...]

"Fast forward to July 2010, as I described in an oped (entitled aptly, "Witless For the Defense”) emphasizing the dangerous absurdity—and considering his 1980 MS thesis, three decades long tenacity—of Brennan’s uninformed Islamophilia. While then serving as the Obama administration’s chief counterterrorism adviser, I noted how Mr. Brennan,

vociferously advocates an exclusive, bowdlerized definition of jihad in the public discourse as "to purify oneself or one’s community,” lest the tender sensibilities of Muslims be offended. He further claims that, somehow, self-described jihadists "have truly just distorted the whole concept” of jihad. But it is Mr. Brennan who, irrespective of whatever flimsy, ahistorical rationale he provides, thoroughly misrepresents jihad – a living, bellicose Islamic institution that dates from the advent of the Muslim creed almost 14 centuries ago. The dangerous absurdity of Mr. Brennan’s jihad denial is self-evident…"

End excerpts

I have argued repeatedly that Islam and modern Leftism are cut from the same cloth (despite a lot of people - even good conservatives - being unwilling or unable to make the connections. See here. here, and here.

The intellectual roots of Islam and of Progressive leftism are similar. Both arose from a number of Christian heresies that plagued the Middle East and were suppressed in the West - forced into hiding, to infect the Enlightenment thinkers. Many of the latter Enlightenment thinkers (like Rousseau) had a special fondness for Islam, a monistic religion. In Islam there is no separation of Church and State, no "City of God and City of Man" as Augustine put it, and the creators of socialism and modern Progressivism loved the idea. It meant that all things were within reach of their busy-body natures. This was very much at odds with the earlier Enlightenment thinking of splintering, scattering, balancing powers and interests. The early Enlightenment thinkers were battling the rule of kings and aristocrats - the latter were battling their fellow Man. Where Jefferson and Madison and Washington and the rest sought to devolve power to the People and build walls to prevent the ingathering of power the followers of Rousseau and the other French - and later German - Philosophes wanted to gather it unto themselves.

Just as it is in Islam, or as Muslims wish it to be.

I could go much deeper with this; the precursors to Islam were Manicheanism, Mithraism, and Arianism, the first two being oriental imports from Persia. These three ideas were suppressed in Europe during the Middle Ages but were strong in the areas where Islam took root, in Egypt, in Arabia, in Mesopotamia and Syria. Islam incorporated a lot from these three, adding claims of being the descendant of Ishmail to make a connection with Jews and Christians who still held considerable sway in the area. But these same forces survived in Europe. Arianism, the belief that denies the unity of God in the Trinity, was a powerful force among early German colonists in Europe. Mithraism, a major rival to Christianity in the Roman Empire, gave Islam the concept of Jihad and likewise the Progressive movement (it survived in secret for decades as it was a master/apprentice system like the Sith in Star Wars.) Mithraism was a dualistic faith, and the idea of warriors for light was a powerful draw for early Roman soldiers, who preferred it to Christianity's "turn the other cheek" approach. Anybody doubt that modern Progressivism has the same characteristics? The other side isn't just wrong but evil, and must be destroyed rather than reasoned with. It's Mithraism to the core - same as Islam. And Manicheanism was popular before Islam swallowed the Middle East. Islam uses many of the same rituals and beliefs, including several daily calls to prayer, facing in a "holy" direction, and calling both Mani and Muhammad "the seal of the Prophets". But it also was the penultimate snobbbish faith, with adepts ruling the rest of the masses by Divine right. Islam is the same, with Muslims ruling over the Dhimmi, those who would not convert. Manicheanism had made inroads in Europe, especially in France, before it was suppressed, but it survived in many ways in the secret societies that dominated Europe in the late Middle Ages and into modern times, the Freemasons, the Illuminati, etc. This belief was at the core of Nazism via the Thule Society and the monistic beliefs of the Germanenorden Walvater, based on the beliefs of Madame Helena Blavatsky and promoted by "the Beast", an occultist sex pervert named Guido Von List. All of the top brass of the Nazis were members of the Theosophic Thule Society with the exception of Hitler himself, and the Nazi symbols - the Swastica, the lightening bolt SS, the Eagle, etc. were taken from occultic symbols from the Thule Society. These had their roots in Manicheanism.

So modern Progressivism has its roots in the same foul swamp as Islam, and John Brennan, the man who voted for the CPUSA candidate for President and then became head of the CIA (!), the man with a lifelong fondness for radical Islam and who may well have secretly converted, is a child of the post-modern Progressive Jihadism.

There is much more to be said on this. I may have to revisit this soon.
