Absolutely. And a university in Utah has developed a device that sustains a fusion reaction at room temperature. They call it "cold fusion" and will be building 100Mw electrical plants using the technology any week now.

Did we develop this alone, or in partnership with the Romulans? I hope it's not the latter, because those guys have "treachery" written all over them. I've watched 'em for years.

Well, Bill, how are we going to power the impulse engines without that cold fusion?
(Kidding aside I agree; this is a silly story, something not going to happen. We might camouflage something but this is way beyond current tech.)
