Chuck Lorre; A Pilgrim's Journey
Timothy Birdnow
I always assumed Chuck Lorre, the television producer known for the Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men, was a liberal. He probably is, but he's a better man than I thought.
Lorre says:
When civilizations or cultures took God out of the picture, they replaced it with a Communist party, with a fascist dictator,” Lorre said during his appearance on Tuesday’s episode of The Joe Rogan Experience.
"It’s the same idea: ‘Organize around me. It doesn’t matter if I’m right or not, organize around me.’ And people will,” the producer warned. "And if you take that away from them, they get angry.”
"It freaks them out,” Lorre added. "Because it’s like the tent pole. That tent pole moves, the tent comes down and everything, you know, if you believe that this is the truth and someone says, ‘No, it’s not. It’s bullshit,’ everything else you believe is in fair play. Everything.”
Good analogy. As Tevye says in Fiddler on the Roof "I pulled out a thread and where has it led"? Tevye was portrayed as a man who couldn't accept that things change, and it is true you DO have to adapt to change, but there are eternal things, unmovable truths. It is THAT which the Left has attacked and it is THAT which cannot be removed without disaster.
This tent pole theory applies to the Left because if you go after one of their core principles you can take the whole leftist stupidity down. They will fight to the bitter end to defend every and any aspect of it because if you pull one thread Liberalism unravels.
Lorre went on:
"The real solution — I’m going to say it and then regret it — but the real solution is a spiritual solution. You have to find something beyond this world,” he said.
Rogan then chimed in, asking, "Why would you regret saying that?” before inquiring with a laugh: "Because you live in L.A.? Because you’re in your bubble?”
The Young Sheldon producer responded by stating that he didn’t want to be associated with "new age bullshit.”
"But I don’t know any other way,” Lorre added. "And I do know that in my own life, seeking a spiritual illusion — not finding it, but the act of seeking it — there’s some salvation in that.”
Not sure if he's tried Christianity, probably not. Christ is the REAL solution; all others are imitators. And bad imitators at that.
I hope he finds his way to a Christian church and looks around until he finds the right one. Me, I'm all for his becoming a good Catholic, but a Protestant or Orthodox would be fine too (as long as he doesn't become one of the crazy liberal Protestants.) But I will pray he finds Christ and in that peace. He admits wealth and ownership of things is not the answer.
At any rate Lorre is in an unique position to be a force for great good in this world. Hopefully he'll find what he seeks and uses his influence to rescue a society that is bereft of the eternal things.
