1 Well now, we have a couple of Canadian friends, who visited us last year, and who are totally harmless. They are, how shall I say it, different from Americans. The male of the couple is a member of their local AMC Rambler "fan" club, which will tell you something about him, I suppose. I guess I'll let it go at that...

2 I tease Canadians a lot but actually like and respect most of them I have met. But they keep eleccting screwball governments. I don't get their thinking at all; someone really should do a research study on hallucinagenic properties of maple syrup.

A Rambler fan club? Never HEARD of such a thing!

My dad had a rambler when we were growing up-; a pale blue station wagon that always broke down. No air conditioning, power nothing. I was so thrilled when he finally got rid of the Rambler and bought a Ford station wagon with all of those bells and whistles. It was possible to go on our yearly vacation in July and not sweat twenty poiunds off.

3 I think it's something in the forest fire smoke, and they sure sent us a lot of that during the summer! Makes it hell to sit out on our deck. Only recently have we -- or more accurately I, what with Martha being in the hospital -- been able to enjoy a glass of red on the deck.
