Two Refineries That Produce 14% Of California's Gasoline Set To Close Due To "Regulatory Pressure"


This isn't just a state matter in California - it has obvious implications for interstate commerce and is a decision that cannot be left to the dingbats in the big cities in the Golden State. Congress should act as soon as possible to restrict CA's draconian regulations and thus stop one state from dictating our energy prices.

There are just 132 oil refineries in the U.S., most in the Gulf Coast and the Deep South. Losing two will make refining just that much more difficult, restricting supply. I would add that we are down from our record high, set in 1982 - of 254. Yet America has over 296 million vehicles on the road as of statistics from 2024 - up from the 1982 average of 123,700,000 cars and 35,900,000 trucks and other commercial vehicles (so 149,600,000 total.) That is a MASSIVE increase and yet the Left is systematically killing off the fuel supply.

And of course this sends shock waves throughout the whole economy as everything, every single item you buy, has to be shipped by truck or rail or sometimes plane. But it all requires fuel, and the Left simply wants us to do without.

They do this even while knowing EV's will fail; we can hardly provide enough electricity for our needs now, and adding millions of cars to the grid will crash the system. Oh, and much of our electricity is made from natural gas, but also from coal - which the Left has labored to kill - and from oil. Pinwheels and mirrors cannot possibly produce enough energy.

Which is ultimately the point. They want to reduce the population and to do that they want to reduce our standard of living so we quit having children.

I've spoken of this before; it's the hydraulic empire theory. Instead of controlling just water they want to control and ration energy - electricity, heat, air conditioning, refrigeration, etc. If you obey you get it, if you do not obey you live a Third World life.

Eventually they think this will drive depopulation, or at least confine the "unruly" freedom-lovers into corrals like horses where they can be broken properly until they die out from despair.

These people are truly monsters. And they are coming for your cars. Oh yeah; they are coming for you and your families too.

California should not be allowed to do this. As I stated, this has interstate commerce implications and is something that the courts should strike down. But of course they have packed the courts in California,so any legal challenge will have to be at the Federal level and will go before the ridiculous Ninth Circus which will side with the moonbats.

This is something Congress needs to fix. Sadly I doubt it will ever happen. Even if the GOP takes both houses and the Presidency the Senate will still be filibusterable.

I think we need reverse secession; kick the whole stupid state out of the Union. Let them join Mexico, or try to operate as an independent country. If Washington wants to go that route they are welcome in Canada, I am sure. But it's reaching the point where we are being dragged down by these jerks and unless we cut loose, either secede on our own or kick the worst offenders out, we are all going down. Sort of like Kamala Harris did with Willie Brown...
