Calexit

Dana Mathewson

Wayne Allyn Root makes some good points.

The only thing he doesn't mention is all that wonderful food we get from CA. How're we gonna compensate for that?

A NOTE FROM TIM: Stop funding big corn for ethanol and maybe other states would grow the food now grown in CA. And of course there's always TRADE for the stuff, something an embryonic California nation would desperately need.

Honathan Dickinson adds:

I've always said that, out of a love for my fellow Americans, I will vote for any secession proposition that comes along. Admittedly I already feel like I live in a foreign country so nothing much will change in that respect. Take where I live in Fresno, for instance, only 30% of the population is white, almost 55% is Hispanic. Approx. 650,000 people leave this state each year for other states and, yes, almost 500,000 move here, but our growth comes from the invasion across the southern border and the visa programs. One of the Calexit leaders said on television over a year ago that he was thrilled that so many Americans were leaving California because we need to make room for the new citizens.

It will never happen, however, there are 365,000 federal government workers here in California, there are the two major ports and our military bases, and Democrats in the rest of the country understand full well that a significant percentage of their political power in D.C. comes from California for all the reasons Root spelled out. It's just a matter of time, though, I will be joining the American outflow regardless of how it turns out.

The Budget:

In 2010 Republicans told us if we gave them the House they would defund Obamacare. They didn't, of course, if was a big fat lie. Then in 2014 they said that they needed the Senate because all those things the House passed were blocked by Harry Reid. We gave them the Senate and then they moved right into the next mode - "We can't do anything, Obama will just veto it, so give us the White House." We did and now what is the newest lie, what we've been hearing all this week? "We can't do anything, we can't fund the wall, we have to fund Planned Parenthood and 1.3 trillion other things, all because we do not have 60 votes in the Senate." I disagree completely. The only way Republicans will govern the way we want them to is to have a 70-seat majority in the Senate because we have about ten or so Republicans like Collins, Murkowski, and McCain who really aren't Republicans at all. And by the way, don't Democrats when they are in power pass stuff without 60 votes regularly?

Based on what I've seen on the internet this morning and heard from callers on Rush's program, a whole lot of people are extremely angry.

Argh.
