It survived Prohibition, the Great Depression, two world wars, and even the great San Francisco earthquake of 1906 — but it couldn’t withstand the woke left.
As drinkers mourned this week’s sudden closure of Anchor Brewing Co., the 127-year-old company that pioneered America’s craft beer industry, criticsblamed the stunning collapseon socialist activists who drove labor costs to unsustainable heights.
"You
schmucks ruined a legacy business,” San Francisco political commentator
and former mayoral candidate Richie Greenberg told The Post. "Your
union fought for 25% raises, and now your members are getting 100% of
zero. Bravo.”

In 1966 I was a maintenance electrician for a huge manufacturing plant. I worked as much overtime as I wanted to, needed no approval for overtime hours, and was literally making more money than I could spend. The IBEW, of which I was a member, went on strike for higher wages. After the strike my overtime was cut to zero. No overtime for any reason. I lost six weeks wages and was making 40% less than before the strike. Awesome.

That's the way the whole economy has gone I fear Bill.
I was a UFCW member and they demanded heatlth insurance for everyone. We worked three years without a contract as a result. They said they were escrowing our pensions and the union said not to worry. Guess what? They weren't, the compnay sold out, and we all lost our pensions.
The union was complicit with the company in this. I am still bitter, in case it's not coming through.
I have no great love for labor unions as a result.
