Bumper Crops and Farm Busts

Timothy Birdnow

Record corn production is going to drop the price of corn down - and hurt the farmers who will be getting less for their produce.

"The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) raised its estimate for the nation's 2023-24 corn crop to 15.234 billion bushels in a monthly report, from 15.064 billion in October."

What does this mean?

It's good news for the Democtats and the Left.

First, the ethanol put in gasoline will be cheaper, thus temporarily lowering gas prices just as the election unfolds. It won't last but it will give Biden a boost at a key time.

Second, it will further erode the small farmholder's financial situation, thus allowing corporate farming conglomerates (who all support the Democrats) to buy up even more family farms.

As America loses private farms - the backbone of America's small business economy - we see a further centralization of power and more government control imposed.

My question is why did we have a larger crop than expected? We were told we had a sweltering summer, hottest ever, and that this would lead to crop failures and we were all going to die. But instead of a crop failure we had a bumper crop. What gives?

Why, it's almost as if warmer weather INCREASES crop yield!

But I wonder; what machinations went on behind the scenes, at the Department of Agriculture, at the Food and Drug Administration, at the Department of the Interior, etc. to help foster a larger crop. Were impeding regulations relaxed? Were farmers given goodies to sweeten the pot?

I don't know but it seems to me there is much of value to the Democrats with this.

Only in our modern crypto-communist era can a productive farm season be bad news for the country, but I fear it is.

In related news Australian sheep prices bottomed out, leaving one of Australia's prime animal husbandry industries in crisis.

This will have a similar effect Down Under, consolidating the ranches and undoubtedly leading to many becoming the property of Australia's radical government.

Throughout the Western World there has been a quiet war waged on traditional farming. The goal of the Ruoling Class is to reduce the population, get us all eating bugs and weeds, and then let these lands go fallow, return to this mythical paradise that was a state of nature. I see the bumper crops of soybean and corn being just another tool to accomplish this goal.
